Re: Thoughts on 4 cylinder boats

I've run GPU boats, supercharged 480 boats and 500 Cadillacs. Not the wife and I are in the mid sixties and run an 0320 Lycoming on a 11'6" stossel boat. We run anyplace I point the boat. Uses less fuel and once in a while I hand prop it for kicks. Best airboat ever.

Oh yeah that'll get ya 20 years for manslaughter. Who would have the stones to get on an airboat forum and rip up all airboaters, oh I know, a rookie or nonairboater!

Withlacochee river put in at Nobleton, rode north to SR44 and back. Had no idea as to how much marsh I passed by. Flying Eagle, lake Pan. Was back in 1987.

Re: New Build EcoTec Turbo 2.4 (First build want advice)

Tony, one cannot argue the power of the gso480, but at the end of the day, the ecotec route just makes more sense economically. I am still a fan of ac engines.

Re: New Build EcoTec Turbo 2.4 (First build want advice)

after 30 years of running strictly ac, I saw the handwriting on the wall. So I just sold my supercharged 480 boat and am starting to think about ecotec. We all know the limitations of ac vs the unlimited options for car motors. this thread is very interesting and opens ones eyes even wider.

So right, Capt. The key word here is PRIVATE property. Hunt kind of resembles coon hunting, lights, late night, and quiet.

Re: coyotes on west side lk winder

Go to MyFWC.com. Coyote hunting is open year round. I have been asked to remove a bunch from property north of Tampa. They will stand you off in broad daylight! Coyotes are coming near homes, around swimming pools, and they are not timid. However, in the woods it proves more difficult to get close. ...

Re: Orange Lake

I can, and many of the other old timers on here can remember, the days when you could drop your boat in over at McIntosh on the West side of Orange Lake (Sportsman's Cove) and ride out into that lake with marsh all around, turn toward the North and ride through the idle zone that was Cross Creek, a...

Re: Starters Heating Up!!!!

You stated you have a ground on starter, assuming it goes to battery? If voltage drop test passes and your cables do not heat up, then I would rule out wiring.

Or even, if your headers are of such design that they run too close to starer, you may have to wrap to keep heat down.

Re: Solve this mystery

Crankshaft gear sheared all three pins that hold it on the crankshaft. Causes the timing in the supercharger to move. Had this happen on one a while back and drove me nuts for a few days. Runs fine on idle, but when you gas it the timing moves. Its designed to shear with a heavy prop strike to save...
