Re: slick bottom vs polly

Hard to say on the difference of ride, the slick bottom was on a lite 14' glass Bandit hull where as the poly is on a 14' aluminum Hamant with rake and walk boards ...... big weight difference / different hull profile. I miss the glass with slick, but don't miss the de-rig / re-rig. To do a good job...

Re: slick bottom vs polly

I ran slick bottom .... Steel flex... for years, once a year de-rig and re-rig the boat .... got tired of it, when I purchased my new Hamant hull I had polly installed.

Looks to be a clean boat, if the engine checks out (leak down test, not a oil burner) and rides well, personally I think an even trade you would be coming out ahead, if that's what your getting at.......but.......I'm a car motor guy, so what do I know....

Re: Trailer supplier in Central Florida

Ouch! There is a real good legal reason that the original flag holder is not a pass through or pull down now! I would hazard to guess that where most folks mount the flag is at the top of the cage, thus inserting the flag mast down into the path of the prop when retracted ............... possibly g...

Re: Removing Continental C-125 and putting SBC in

The 1968 327 has an RV cam was rebuilt to run with a turbo 350 trans in 1st gear with 308 welded rear end at constant 6000 rpm but it was never put in a car. As a DD application you would be leaving allot of your HP on the table at 3000 rpm. I went done this road years ago. Will it get you on the w...

. . . By the research I did I could be good further out by my prop and torque range. . . I believe you've mistaken rudder spacing (laterally) for rudder distance from prop. . . . You will never see your recent "Investment / Repair " costs back out of it.
Not trying to bash or be a downer, but you would be better off having a cocaine hooker invest $5k for you.

Re: Do I go back to DD or get a Reduction ??

As Deano has pointed out, if your FD is actually in need of an airboat you would be money ahead to sell off what you have for what you can get out of it, and add it to the $9800 you are expecting to put out for repairs, then have a couple ol'fashioned community fundraisers before you know it you wou...

Re: Flexplate for chevy

A 153 0r 168 tooth really does not matter on a DD, as long as the starter he is using has the option for variable mount, of which it sounds that it probably does if it is a mini hi torque starter. What matters though would be the quality of the flex plate, I would recommend a FSI approved flex plate...
