Re: Considering buy a aluminum engine

If you find an LS with VVT/DOD you can eliminate it with a delete kit. To eliminate the DOD Summit has a kit for $338 that comes with new valley cover to seal off the DOD towers, lifters, head bolts and lifter trays. If you want to run an after market cam they also have the VVT delete kit that inclu...

Re: Charter lakes

Just got my cancellation letter from Charter. Apparently Travelers, who is the insurance carrier, has decided to "limit it's exposure to airboats". They did quote me a new policy through Markel though. It's actually cheaper but I need to look at the fine details and compare to what I had. I'm in nor...

Re: Orange Lake Water Level

Last time I rode Orange in early August the water was as high as ever. Would imagine it still is with all the rain we've had. There was plenty of water in the River Styx trail.

Re: DynaMarine

Caddell, I don't think the LS4 would work out because it has a different bellhousing pattern than other LS blocks. I believe it's what they called a GM metric pattern. This motor was used in FWD applications like the Buick LaCross and it has no starter boss on the block either, the starter was mount...

Re: DynaMarine

Shot if you can build your own boat just find a boat that runs great and take some measurements from it and copy it. That's what a lot of people do. It's that way in drag racing. Half the sportsman dragsters are all almost identical. Kurt Damron set the standard in that industry. Maybe if someone t...

Re: WaterThunder Sensenich video Over 2,000 pounds of thrust

Man, that's impressive Dave, thanks for sharing that. I was watching the timing curve on the screen and was wondering if you could touch on the subject of ideal timing curves for LS airboat applications. I'm sure horsepower level and compression ratios will change what is ideal but I'm just curious ...

Re: Mufflers on Orange lake.

.....and no matter how quiet you make an airboat there will be those that will still think they're too loud and want curfews and bans. There's always gonna be the haters....it sucks. Curfews and bans are wrong and can be stopped but do not forget the noise db law is statewide and punishable in some...

Re: Mufflers on Orange lake.

Mufflers would definitely help but I don't think you are gonna be able to quiet an airboat down enough to make those people happy to lift the curfew, in fact you might push the wrong buttons and they might shut it down completely if they are as powerful as you described earlier I think you hit the ...

Lol! Thanks Jason. Since you live near the racetrack you should come out one night when I'm running. Come out during the week sometime and I'll show you the race school shop and cars.

That's me and the guys I was riding with in your pic of the bluff Packman. Nice pic! This was my first time ever being down there and I had a great time! Steve Deathrage showed me around and I couldn't believe how many bad ass boats there are down there! I'm from up near Gainesville and not use to s...

Re: Alcohol motor

LOL! Thanks Steve, I've won my share but far from a legend....maybe a local hero. Lol. E-85 could be interesting in a EFI application where the fuel system is designed to run on it. Shane, that might be a cool project for Dyna Marine. A nasty LS on E-85 on one of your deckovers!

Re: Alcohol motor

I run my Super Comp dragster on alcohol and I love it for that application but it wouldn't be practical at all for an airboat. You'd need a fuel tank twice as big as you're running now to have the same range (air/fuel ratio is roughly twice that of gas) alcohol is corrosive and can eat up fuel lines...

X2 on 3000 rpms with the Stump Puller. I ran a 72" on my 500 caddy. Set it at 2600 at first and it was OK but didn't run dry all that good. Set it to 3000 and it was like a different boat. Ran much stronger.
