Re: Redfish Reports

Went about 2 weeks ago out of inglis, we caught 5 reds with 2 keepers in the 23" range. Fished the outer islands. Should be getting better by the end of this month.

Re: Thrust testing for Sensenich today!

It'd be very interesting to know the pitch of both during the test. I know for me to spin my 4 blade R at 5500, it'd have to be around or just under 2.5 mark. When I had the 3 blade I was around 3.5 and was turning 5400. When I spoke with Don he said you get to a point called parasitic drag after so...

Re: Thrust testing for Sensenich today!

Dave, where's the pics? There's more than me interested in this for sure. Did you try a 4 blade in the proto type? If I can spin a 4 blade R now, it'd be interesting to see if a proto 4 would push like a 5 blade . You got my wheels spinning.

Re: Thrust testing for Sensenich today!

It's running great, no issues. I had to pitch the 3 blade R to 3.5 , so I went to the 4 blade R and have it pitched near the 3 mark, turning 5150 on the water. Cruising around 3200 / 3300 rpm. It's the way to go with a heavier boat.

Re: Thrust testing for Sensenich today!

That's awesome news, love how my 4 blade R pushes, but miss how quick the motor would spin with the 3 blade set up. Maybe some R props going up for sale soon. Get those pics up.

Re: 3 or 4?

After putting my 427 SBC on, I had my 3 blade 81.5 set on 3.5, 5400 rpm with a 2.68, it did pretty good except it used more gas. I decided to go with the 4 blade r after talking with Don at sensenich. So I kept my 2.68 got the 4 blade r at 81.5, set it up around the 2.5 mark turning 5400 went and te...

We fished shrimp and mud minnows on the bottom, if the bite is slow try them under a popping cork.

Re: 11-09-2014 Cedar Key Reds.

We went today, caught at least 50 reds, limited out with 20-22", 3 keeper trout and 2 flounder. We fished north side of lows bay. It was a fun day for sure.

Re: I'm drinking EcoTech Kool-Aide

What's the warranty if you're buying these engine new? With all the sensors I wonder if they will hold up to the salt water environment where I run 95% of the time. Sure has my interest with the fuel mileage they get.

I had all intentions to fish, but while I was netting bait on Friday had some unexpected engine problems. Heard 28 boats were in it and my buddys won overall bag and big trout. Hope to be there next year.

Re: Laser cut sea deck or similar???

Not a problem. Just make sure you paint the decking good mines got corrosion from the salt water. You have to leave a gap, can't butt the sea dek together

Re: Laser cut sea deck or similar???

I did mine, cost me 700.00 from sea dek. I cut out templates then cut the material. Very easy to work with. I'd help you since we're not to far apart. Mines camel over maroon, looks and feels good. Takes a beating in the gulf environment.I've got a pic in my photos on here but can't figure how to at...

Re: Boat crowhops while turning

I read on here where smuggler suggested 1/2" in center bolt then snug the outer bolts. I did that on my middle jack, the rear jack only like about 1/4" in the center on my boat. I only have 2 jacks. That should get you close. My boat will crow hop if I really get into it.

Re: help with 383

As for your wiring that's good advice and I'd be checking those.I'd check the timing, to make sure it didn't jump a tooth, but that'd be unlikely unless it had worn teeth on the gears. Mine just broke a rocker stud, had a miss and vibrated real bad.. Check your grounds, timing and rockers.

I'd grab the prop check for play in and out, gear lash and pull the plug and check for metal.

Re: DB, JB, or Hamant hull?

When you're hiring and expanding that just means your doing it the right way. I'm going to come down so we can discuss options on a hull. Mines in the gulf 95% and a hull has to be tough to hold up to my fishing area. Keep up the good work Wade.

Wade , looks like you need to hire a couple of welders. Must mean business is good. Think I'm going to get a new hull this year.
