Re: Need more power, not sure which route to take

If I had a LS motor I'd make a call to WaterThunder. He would know a lot more than me.

Re: BALLASTIC GEAR BOX?

I have mine pitched at the 3 mark and I still have to turn 3600 rpm to cruise over 30 mph

Is that skinny or deep water? In deep water I turn around 3000 to cruise at 30mph , in skinny a lot less .

Re: Need more power, not sure which route to take

Don't go too high of a lift with your cam . I have an extremely high lift , and you lose the ability of slowly idling up on fish / frogs etc. my boat actually rocks side to side . Trying to gig Talapia , they will feel it and leave before they are in range.

Google Earth will show you coordinates, zooming in you can see slides , CCAA buildings and shelters on the islands . Google Earth will give you almost everything you need .

Re: map of lake hernando

I have all the gps numbers for all the island hangouts , meeting places , the slides, for the entire loop . I need to post them . If you have the coordinates, you can get an idea if trail heads that way.

Unfortunately, it's true . Ken was bigger than life in the Swamp because of the CCA videos. He will be missed no doubt.

Re: LS3 twin turbo

Shane which was the better motor , turbo or supercharged ? I know you have built both. They both had their benefits for sure Reed...I'd go supercharged though, same power but it's instant. Thanks Shane , thats what Ive seen as well .Pretty much same as on asphalt as in the swamp . Driven a LSA powe...

I've seen 2 sbc boats with turbos , seems it takes longer to spool up turbos than it does for a whipple charger.

Re: Airboat sunk need help

Airboaters always rise to the occasion . Big shout out to all who helped. I had friends that wreck at that very location back in the 90's . When the River was at its lowest you could see where old roadbed and bridge was. I was told it was tore down in the 30's.

Re: What aluminum hull to buy?

Panther Thunder , .190 bottom with poly. The Withlacoochee River has,big rocks, especially at north end and Potts is loaded with them. If you are running Potts and see 1/2 PVC pipe , there is a rock there.
Boat is heavy but bulletproof, seen two many rocks trash a boat here.

Probably a lot easier to pull jug . If anything (trash) gets in it then you have bigger problems.

Re: Orange Lake Airboating.

Jeep , you are absolutely right. That is why the CCAA was created in the 90's . They were trying to restrict airboats to just the lakes and kicker trails. The word "Alliance" was used instead of association , because we didn't want to be just associated , we wanted to be an alliance to fight. The CC...

Re: CCAA Spring Rodeo 04/16/16

Great turnout despite the weather. Between 160 and 170 boats were there throughout the day. I didn't get to stay for whole event , had to tow down boat in. The biggest surprise of the day was the relative closeness of the Carmotor and AC classes . The AC boys just look smooth and effortless and the ...

Well , front isn't moving as fast as expected , so chance of rain has increased. Scattered thunderstorms Saturday. Oh well , wouldn't be the first time I got wet airboating .
