Re: 5.3 on a 15x7 set up help

Make sure your clearance are set right for a high volume oil pump. I personally would run a stock pressure and oil pump but polish the bypass and shim the spring. If you don't have the trunnion upgrade yet look at the brain tooley shaft kit not much more then the trunnion upgrade I ran a stock 5.3 w...

Re: VW engines on airboats?

Yes there were a few, best one I saw was built by cntry141iq on here. I think it was a 1600cc, had a reduction on it and it was on a special little hull he had alumitec build. Ran great. Pics and in his pic gallery on the 3rd page just don't know how to post them. Unfortunately Cnrty passed sometime...

I have stripped a factory harness down to the basics but never got to try it out. Got a deal on a Holley HP system and TBSS intake. Waiting til after fishing season here to make any changes. There are a few people that have had great luck with the stock efi setups. TBSS Or newer truck intake with st...

For Quiet exhaust search for comments by cntry141iq he built one of the quietest boat I have ever been around. I think he ran a summit RV muffler. I ran a stock carbed 5.3 on a 14x7-6 alumitec used several different gear ratio's but the 2.55 and 2.68 performed the best. Boat is used for fishing the ...

Re: Redfish Reports

My brother came down from Virginia for a few days. We got a few hours to fish on sunday. A little drizzly rain and windy but in 2.5hrs caught our limit in 16-18" trout and 2 nice reds to send home with my brother.

Must have caught 30-40 fish a piece. We had a great time.

What is the prop length from tip to center of the hub, what is your WOT rpm and what pitch mark the blades set on?

You could also call Century and see if your belt-drive house will work with a 2.37:1 gear set

Pics are fine and I understand Working with what you have within a budget. 1st it looks heavy. has a lot of nose weight with all the lights, has rod boxes and look like an extra rod box. Think the radiator looks very close to the prop. Hard to get clean air that way. My thoughts are the radiator dow...

Re: Ls1 hp question

Well if it is an 03 From a corvette they offer 2 options ls1 and LS6. Both are aluminum block, so if is an iron block it is not an LS1 or LS6. Main difference is heads and cam. Factory rating ls1 350hp LS6 400hp. You have no Power steering pump or A/C so maybe a tad over those numbers. IF the heads ...
