Re: Turbo MOTOR Performance

Shane another question for you- what's your 'cruise' rpm and how does it drive?
What's max psi ?

I have a chance to pick up (2) Garrett 55(induction) /67 turbine (.94 A/R)
And was thinking they where too small for a Ls6(5.7).....

Re: Turbo MOTOR Performance

John fenner- I have one of those (on a shelf)I removed after I rolled my 6.0---- They sound cool as hell don't they! I loved it with my 4" open down pipe.... Whistling Dixie..... The issue is the operating range and pressure they make....3500 rpm and 30/40 psi is no good on a 93 octane motor......

I just reread the original post- you may want to consider a BigBlock on that 18' boat!
Your asking ALOT from a small block to begin with even without a power adder....

Re: Turbo MOTOR Performance

Lots of GT45 variants out there! What are you doing for a computer? I was debating over a BorgWarner s475 as a single ( and can be purchased for $650 and up) or s366's for twins ( $550 and up) but these are well made.....and offer room to grow later in the form of billet wheels and race covers.... I love my airfoil style- and when I took my foam filled rudders off they we Not that light....... But they were easy to dent.... And I'm sure Over time the 'thin' filled were retaining water. I'm not sure what your plywood pieces weigh....... I replaced the foam filled crap with some very nice airfo...

DOD and vvt are nothing to be afraid of....... Just understand that
( usually) you'll want( need) to change it back to standard bs.
A few different parts..... Not necessarily 'new dealer' parts....maybe in the future it will be different.

Re: Considering buy a aluminum engine

If you get Dave's aftermarket (holley ? computer) ECM and harness he would put the correct software in it!! That's your best bet..... Otherwise you'll spend 5-600$ on hp tuners software and still have to pay people to MAYBE get the tune right. You'll be at 1500$ before you know it and be regretting ...

Re: BBC Power Issues?

I was told that the Falcon blade performs best @ 25/2,600 rpm( prop speed)...or something like that.... So be sure you address your carb situation first.... And get your motor right before you start switching gear ratios around.... Change one thing at a time! My caddy on a 15 by 8 Hammant with 80&qu...

Looks like the vette pump work be the 'cleanest' routing for water......
So with that said...... Does that mandate using the vette crank hub?

One eye- are you using the truck Waterpump?
Looking at the f body crank hub it seems to be a lot shorter than the truck hub....
And Thanks for the reply....

I watched that short a few months ago- I think it won some sort of award-
It's interesting but doesn't really make much sense to me.
At least it has an airboat in it!
