Re: Part number for starter

I have an Norman clay and adaptor and what looks to be an 11 tooth from Napa but I can't read the part number its too faded and its a little tricky to see around that cone piece. Can you tell what starter I need from these pics. This is a Chrysler starter adapter with a late model dodge magnum star...

Re: 220 won't idle ?

Pull the bowl and metering plate, the idle circuits are in the same slot as the power valve feed circuits, a small brass jet per side pressed into the block, most likely you have some corrosion bouncing around in there, I would soak the block in ospho, if you have a pin vice, (tiny drill type torch ...

Re: 520 Continental rebuild

There is a formula for bore size to end gap out there, if you do some measuring to figure where each ring will set in bore up in the choke, you can get them gnats ass hair set to specs for best results.

Re: timing mags/ snapping the impulse coupling

Just turn the drive cog in rotation, it should click through, then back up to E-gap.

Re: timing mags/ snapping the impulse coupling

Turn it same as you would a straight drive, the dog will engage the pin and stop the shaft, the coupler will turn till it ramps the dog out of pin and snap through. You can turn it backwards to line up e-gap for the timing mark in the window.

I use 1x1x.065" square, be sure all intersections of the cross bracing end up to the mounts or pad.

Same here, had good luck with it, flange sealant saves the silk string for flossing :toothy7:

Re: 520 rich/misfire?

Need to know what carb, if MA6 the aneroid could have vibrated out, there is an MA4-5 version that has the aneroid as well, unsure of the # on that one, a runup and a gradual move of the lean rich lever could show a jet issue, also a stuck or plugged economizer valve could cause a rich condition.

Not very familiar with the oil system on that engine, if you have an infrared thermometer, good place to start.

A 4X is what you want, Sioux guns hit hard but have hair triggers, look for ATS aircraft tool supply, get a basic 4X gun.
Shop for clecoes there or like I do on Ebay.

Re: Rivet Information

Ok, Aircraft Spruce is my online supplier of rivets and hardware, they are very good with customer service. AN426 is flat head rivets, AN470 is brazier head, so say you need to join 3/16 stringer to .100" sheet you would want AN426AD6-8 the AD determines the temper of the rivet if only A they a...
