Re: timing for dd 350

I’d say the imagination is the limits on what to
Plug it with. Holley makes a plug kit for vacuum ports as do many others. Whatever you use make sure it’s good quality and 100% sealed. Getting a stumble and chasing a vacuum leak swearing it’s another issue will become bothersome !

32* total, vacuum advance disconnect and plug. Get a Mr.Gasket spring kit and toss the lightest springs in it so the mechanical comes in ASAP.

My friend has a 16x8 DB with 350 330hp/330tq I believe that is some where around 56-5800ish rpm he swings a 3 blade R with 2.38 belt box. My boat is 16x8 HEAVY DB with 6.0 LS 365ish hp maybe 3 blade K series 2.1:1 belt. Both have been stuck but neither struggle on dry we can go where ever we want wh...

I run a 16x8 Diamondback 6.0L (Lq4 base) PCM/Levitator, ch3 2:1 belt box, 80”K series (12”)wide cruises at 3400-3500, WOT 5500ish. And only 365ish HP. I would say your a little high on rpm.

Re: Not happy about hull!!

That’s a called a stringer, depending on how bad it is will determine work involved. Hit the search on the forum for stringer repair or hull work and you’ll find plenty of information to fix it or information on where or who to take it too to have it done right.

200-210? I’ll call bs on that all day. Mine don’t touch 190-200 and a water thunder won’t touch 175. So I guess all of Dave’s engines have fouled plugs and water in the oil. Stick to a/c’s

Re: Engine Coolant Burp

I had a similar issue with mine however it’s plumbing is different. Your best bet disconnect the big black hose going into the pump and fill until it comes out there. Then I’d run at idle and top off, reconnect and finish filling through burp tank.

Re: Rear heavy? Porpoising / hopping

Do Not add a trim tab!!! The trim tab has been discussed over and over it’s nothing more than a band-aid to the real issue. Take the time to do the work properly and you will have a fun and safe rig. There’s a thousand ways to get it to stop but fixing the issue should be the ONLY consideration. If ...

I believe they talked about this engine few years back, Wayne ‘Huntingbigun’ mentioned it not being a good candidate for airboat use due to the counter weight crankshaft and that engine needing to stay below 2700 RPM. I’m no a/c guy I’m sure you will get more input.

Polk has an airboat ordinance and they are not allowed on the Winter Haven chain unless it’s a clean up event there are areas in Polk they turn a “blind eye” on but most of the conjested lakes you’re askin for problems with ole’ Shady Grady so be sure you check the areas you plan on running..

SWAMPHUNTER45 will probably chime in and tell you the low down on efi and a caddy. If not PM him. Or call Buddy Branch and ask him as no one would know better than Mr. Branch. His number can be found with little Search on here.

Re: Oil cooler hose

Ones I am running now are crimped and a solid piece. Shown in picture. On last boat I made my own with screw together AN fittings and SS braided hose. With quality fittings and quality braided hose I would trust the screw together and crimped to the same PSI(300+) which would exceed the PSI the oil ...

Re: Oil cooler hose

Diamondback sells SS braided ones for oil coolers I run them never an issue. Any manufacturer probably sells them . You Might be able to get the fittings and braided hose a lot cheaper and build them yourself online or local hot rod shop, or Napa. Mine have brass fittings on them not aluminum.

I’ve used 3M auto body panel adhesive to secure nuts on all-thread. The adhesive I use is considered permanent. Not saying this was what the previous owner did. hell I’ve seen acorn head bolts before but they were pretty pricey they came in SS and chrome. If you have not removed one yet it could be ...

Re: Fuel pressure drop at 180

The newer PCM/Levitator engines go into “limp” mode to protect them when they reach 220* as a protective measure. The engine will be limited to 2000-2200 RPM once the engine drops below 1200 RPM it will allow you return to full power. Have you tried a new temp sensor? Might be faulted. Strange you a...

I’m running a PCM/Levitator 6.0 published numbers state 375hp@5xxx and 366ft/lbs TQ, personally think they are over inflated for my model year. The new 6.0’s are 409hp and on dyno pull pretty close last I seen. I’m a 1/16” shy of the 2 mark on blade pitch. Dropping a blade might get you where you ne...

That K series produces max thrust @ 2800. You are leaving a good 500-550 RPM on the table. However if your engine is not capable of higher rpm then set it as closely as you can to the cam specs max Rpm. I twist a 81” 3 blade K series @ 5500ish WOT w/ch3 2:1, cruise at 3200-3500 (23-28)mph give or ta...
