Upholstery in South Florida

Anyone have a reasonably priced upholstery shop in MiamiDade or Broward? I have a single and double that I would like to get new cushions for. Classic Airboats has them for $96 and $150, and it looks like that’s a good price. Thanks.

Re: 3A-3B closed ?

Absolutely ridiculous that they'll let you hunt out of a mud boat and not an airboat. I'm convinced they'll do anything to keep us out.

O290 Oil cooler

I'm trying to find this same oil cooler to replace it since it's pretty beat up and the motor is getting an overhaul so I may as well replace this as well. All I can find from Hayden is the 1240 and bigger 1260. Should I go with the 1240 or the 1260 on my 125? Thanks!

Re: 3A-3B closed ?

I was out there 2 weeks ago and it was dry. Not sure how 2 days of rain results in closures.

Re: Riding in South Florida

Got the boat back from Gus today. Great person to deal with, knowledgeable and very fair. Got a bunch of things fixed or replaced but cylinder 3 and 1 need a further look. There's a slight knock and it seems it could last forever or not very long. Debating whether investigate or ride til it dies. It...

Re: Prop for O290

Thanks! I would love to spend the $1600 on a new prop but it's just not practical to me on a Lower end boat like mine. I'll have to try and find a used model.

Re: Prop for O290

Boat has been getting a bunch of things worked on by Gus Guell like magnetos, carb rebuilt, new motor mounts, new starter, alternator, plugs etc. Some things I could've done but I wanted a mechanic to give it a once over and these were all things he found and explained thoroughly. He has been excell...

Prop for O290

Been talking with a few different people and they've been recommending I switch to a 2 blade prop. I am currently running a 60" 5 blade Warpdrive but have been told a 66" 2 blade would create more torque for my application. Any other recommendations you all can help me with in terms of 2 b...

Re: Riding in South Florida

Thank you John for the reply. Never got a chance to reply. Redid all the wiring, grounds, etc leading to the console. Finally getting a chance to take the boat to Gus this week for a once over. I believe the boat is running on one mag and will need a mag rebuild. S4LN-20 is the problematic mag. 21 w...

Re: Riding in South Florida

:rebel: I would not run that boat like that those blades should be balanced or weigh the same. you should send them back to the manufacture and have them reworked. :rebel: We bought the used boat like that. I'll try and see if there is a manufacturer on the blade to identify who made them and what ...

Re: Riding in South Florida

Finally got a chance to get the boat on the water. Overall went well but did notice a few things that need work. Idles rough but runs fine once you give it gas. Oil cooler gauge not working. 2 of the blades on the prop are missing the ~12" metal piece at the end. Other than that ran pretty good...

Re: Riding in South Florida

I am going to make it to the BBQ for sure with or without the boat.

Does anyone have a mechanic in Miami Dade they can recommend to give the motor a good look? Preferably someone with knowledge of aircraft motors.
