Re: Got a SS welding question...
The 75/25 will do the job just fine. I built witchys whole stainless rigging with it because at the time they where out of my preferred stainless gas (98% argon 2% CO2) and I refused to pay the outrageous price for the helium that's in tri mix. However to me it seamed the 75/25 got the metal much ho...

Re: New/Old Airboat Hull
Thanks for the compliments guys! Rick that project is looking great! Even though you have the boat, motor and trailer now, I still see several beer laps left before they wave the checkered flag  I'm super proud that we were chosen to be a part of this project and can't wait to see it completed!

Re: replacement serpentine belt for a Levitator 6.2
The LSA forums that Mike is referring to are car forums. GM put the LSA engines in 2011-2015 Cadillac CTS-V and Camaro ZL1. Two of my favorites are https://www.ctsvowners.com/ and https://www.camaro5.com/forums/ Lots of valuable information on these engines can be found on those forums..

Re: replacement serpentine belt for a Levitator 6.2
The Levitator LSA 6.2L Supercharged uses the same pulley configuration as the normal LSA. Assuming your after the supercharger belt and not the accessory belt here is chart that gives you the correct belt size depending on what pulley setup you are using. https://www.lingenfelter.com/PDFdownloads/Li...

Re: LQ4 with Long Crank, Fitting to a CH4?
That is odd.. The added length of the crank should have put you in the exact same spot as a sbc. Are you sure you have the correct flexplate for that year engine with the extended crank? a quick google search said you have to use Pioneer flexplate FRA-452 for that setup. Then the box should bolt rig...

Re: A worthy project?
Thanks! I've had conversations with guys that drove these in Nam. Heard some very cool stories! No poly just a bunch of Quick Slick. It would be real tough to put poly on one of these due to the bottom configuration. Not to mention the glass is so thick on the bottom that I think that's protection e...

Re: A worthy project?
I have one of those hulls myself and Rich is right it's a very heavy hull. That being said it's also a very fun boat to drive and has a awesome cruise rpm of 1500-1600. Mine is 14' and does very well with the wide deck 180 on it but since the bottom is so narrow I'm not sure how it would act with a ...

Re: re-power to a bigger motor
A SBC is a direct replacement for a 4.3. No cage modifications needed and the same box will bolt right up. The difference between the 2 is from the engine mounts forward. To make the switch you will add about 5" to what you have upfront now.

Re: Need Glen Treadwell's phone number
Yes.. Mark just finished up building me a stroked 6.0 LS a couple months back. I have him stroking a SBC now and when that's done I got another 6.0 and then a LS9 for him to build. He's a strait shooter, does excellent work and his pricing is more then fair!

Re: Why do L92/LS3 heads tend to disappoint so often?
I'm no LS expert but I would say the main reason the LS3 heads don't work as well on 6.0s is because that's all people are doing is swapping the heads. The LS3 heads are set up for a cylinder that has a bore of 4.065. With the 6.0s having a bore of 4.00, using the LS3 head will put the valves very c...

Re: Tube bending dies - center line radius?
Thanks! It is a nice bender and does a great job. I lucked out and found it on craigslist. It only came with a couple big dies but now I have quite the die collection including some square ones :) . You are correct.. It's amazing how easy you can talk yourself into buying different radius dies ...

Your setup is probably sending a 2 pulse signal and that tach set on 8 cyl is looking for a 4 pulse signal. Try switching the tach to 4 cyl and see if that cures it..

Re: Tube bending dies - center line radius?
I have a JD2 model 4 and as far as the CLR for 1" dies.. It really depends on the look your going for.. In some places I like to use my 3" CLR die and in some places I'll use my 6.5" CLR die but I probably use my 3" CLR die the most.. As far as 3/4" I only have 1 die and it has a 3" CLR but I found ...

Re: Fuel Injector Help
No reason the injectors gm supplies with the engine wouldnt be enough. He swapped the LSA cam for the LS9 cam. That in its self pushes the duty cycle limits of the injectors GM specked for that combo. Now throw a supercharger pulley swap into the mix and your flirting with disaster because now we n...

Re: Fuel Injector Help
Anytime you change the injector size you should modify the tune. Most of the CTS-V guys that run the LS9 cam and a pulley change like running the ID850s. They claim the ID850s are the smallest injectors they like to run with the LS9 cam and pulley swap. Those injectors come with the accurate charact...

Re: Trailer supplier in Central Florida
Do you build trailers for all boats , or just airboats? We have done a few boat trailers for boats that resemble airboats but our main focus is specializing in custom airboat trailers. We are building a new shop now and as soon as we get moved in, we should have the room to venture into different a...
