Re: Anyone ever tried a constant speed prop?
Fook, next time you are doing a run-up in a complex, try this for an answer to your question; bring the RPM's to say 1700, then bring the prop lever back until you see a 100 drop. Now advance the throttle. The rpm will stay at 1600 all the way to wide open. The 'governor ' is doing its job, but wou...

Anyone ever tried a constant speed prop?
So yeah, has anyone ever tried a constant speed prop on their boat? On an airplane, there is the propeller governer that contains oil and with some moveable internal parts. By adjusting a level, the prop pitch is adjusted. Can this be possible setup on a boat? Has anyone ever tried it?

Re: Getting back in the game
Marshpirate, I have read and heard a lot about the Freedomride. Once again, I have no way to get out on the water though and is why I am asking for someone on the SA family to adopt me.

Re: Getting back in the game
Dirtman, the 480 is a powerhouse of an engine. Fuel burn was horrible at 20gph roughly.
The 10 bld was pretty loud but it did what I wanted. Was so close to pulling the trigger on sensenich 'R' type 3bld and would have helped tremendously but I ended up selling whole rig completely.

This may be a long shot
I know this is a long shot but I am very interested in upgrading from my 10 bld warp drive to a 3 bld sensenich R series. $2860 is a good chunk of change to be spending on something when I don't know how much difference it makes (I hear its night vs day difference). So I am here to ask if someone ha...

I fly out of Kissimmee airport daily as a flight instructor. I always look down to see all the airboaters riding around and wishing I could be out there with you. But I can also see the TRASH from the air too!! It's Not good and more vast of an area than you think.

Hence why I think I need to turn the prop pitch more. So If I paid for your plane ticket, you'd fly up to Maryland and tune it for me? HahahaTony480 wrote:Why would you run it at 2800 for ten minutes? If it won't cruise any better than that I would be fixing that first!

Re: First airboat buy
I think that boat looks great. I love the quad seat up front...looks like it came outta Santa's redneck sleigh lol. I put that value in between 16-20k, but that varies depending on who you ask of course :D . Due to your state having a turtle of sorts as a main mascot- I would paint the rudders with...

Re: Lightheaded 5.5" Cubes
Are you fellas using a relay with the 90 watt cube ? Is it recommended? The 90 watt cubes draw less than 6 amps ea at 12 VDC so a relay is not recommended or necessary unless you are using a low amp switch or don't want to run your "power" wire all the way to your console. Most switches that are us...
