Re: Airboating Do & Don'ts..a handbook

What are some situations that will make he airboat roll and what are best ways to prevent this from happening. Turning to sharp at slow speed is an easy way to dip a corner and roll/sink. Also hitting anything while sliding sideways in the grass or skinny water. Best way to avoid these are to be mi...

BBC Headers from Alumitec

Just wanted to say that I have had arguably the best customer experience I have ever had. Ordered a new set of headers for my boat on Monday through the Alumitec website, Tuesday Brad from the shop called to ask me how I would like them built, Wednesday they were finished. They supplied pics of the ...

Re: New to airboats have a few questions

The cone shaped thing is the vacuum advance for engine timing. There is an excellent article about it in this forum.

Re: RE: Re: Airboating Do & Don'ts..a handbook

Old boater, new air boat pilot finds this page enlightening. Thanks to all contributors! Interested in purchasing the manual. Don't know if it's been covered or not but checking the water/fuel separator and running lights. Also, you need a headlight or q beam even if you don't plan on riding at nig...

Header coating

Has anyone tried to coat their headers with the hi-temp Ceracote firearms coating. If so how did it work out? I been considering giving it a try but not really sure it would deal very well with the temps closer to the heads.

Re: Flags for everyone ?

I'll see if I can locate the article again and get a better idea of what it was saying. It was airboating magazine so I'd like to think it was accurate. Probably my reading comprehension to blame. Proud product of Florida public school system.

Flags for everyone ?

I was just reading a magazine and it had an article about the requirements for kayaks and other small craft are now required to run an orange flags just like us. I was wonder if this is a curate or not. I didn't see anything on FWC website but I'm not the best at searching either. If so it's about t...

Re: New rigging question

I have a 14x8 alumitech w/ a BBC and rotator. Side by side front and three person rear rigging and it is more than fine. Also, Alumitec builds some extra heavy rigging. I would think you'd be ok with a small block on the 13'6"x7'6".

Re: Question about Alumabrite (cleaning my deck)

I used it to clean my 14' Airgator and it worked awesome. The boat had been sitting uncovered outside under pine trees for the entire summer while I had the engine rebuilt. When I pulled it into the shop to start work on it it was filthy. It took a couple passes with the alumabrite but she shined ri...
