Re: Boat hop

Rarely have time to re-post old shit, but it sounds like you amplified your push, which a 3 blade will do! It will also amplify your boats faults! Not that more than "goobers" have upgraded to eventually learn they down graded, but like you said, " more push on ground is now costing y...

Ben,
You do realize your posting to a 7 year old post and even 7 years ago a 283 was still an anchor!

A stock crate from GM 572 will turn 4 82" ngr's @ the 3 mark behind a 2.68 limited to 5K.

20x9 @ 5000 pound hull,,,,,,,,,,,,, Maybe 2 572's?

Re: Who makes mini airboat hulls ?

I would Highly suggest you take Mike's advice as far as a mini hull and power plant! You seem to be posting all over the place for something ,,,,, and I hope it's not for a 220 build. Not that 220's are anchor's or anything but not such a great idea on a mini. "Bottoms Up" has a totally ne...

Did you just get amazon fire tv and see this movie or was there another point to this post of poor acting - poor editing - poor airboating?

LMAO- Chuck Norris movies remind of Starsky & Hutch series.. They all have practice skids and burn out marks x 3-4 attempts. Even this sucker has movie all over it with pre ridden paths. Someone is real board and hard to follow Chuck as a grand master or legend with so many takes to get it to hi...

Re: 383 Stoker W/ Gear Reduction

Thanks for the response, I will start eliminating some things to figure the problem out. Thanks again A lot of things you can do that no one else can since it's your boat. Blind questions is real redundant, but to answer one: a 2.38 gear will move a prop 14.28 minutes per degree on your timing. a 2...

Re: Rudder height?

Wtf does radiant heat in a vertical leaf fire have anything to do with prop push horizontal?
Nice thought if your horizontal thinking about it but airboat air washes down from prop even on the rudders.

Simple flour will show you that!

Re: Rudder height?

IDK, I've built a 3 rudder system that was outstanding on the shoreline after it turned too good. That's exactly where I was standing, on the shoreline after that sucker turned on a dime and went horizontal. The old rule works really good as far as spacing apart for two rudder system, but height doe...

Very nice post! Very few value an hour meter or can relate to one in airboat usage. My last ford had 2000 hours and was ready to clock the odometer at 97K rarely seeing over 3k rpm. I still run a 50 hour full service on everything because I count on it. Can't really say it's nice to pull people out ...

Re: Do I go back to DD or get a Reduction ??

Couple things I would budget to change as far as a Sar boat! Hull bump stop down under before you break off or bend that winch stand? And a harbor freight swing jack to get rid of that very time consuming vertical antique, especially on a sar boat! Nice job in all but experience will teach you in so...

Sweet! A high lift to pull or mount things. Not so sweet with taco neck looking at 90 degree off pics though? Question at hand though: Yes pitch it back if the motor can handle it? Stump Pullers can do wonders if a owner and a torque wrench is willing to try. Many people wont touch a prop for some s...

Dude, A good miller is awaiting you at your local welding shop! Re: filling holes

All good advice! FG Resin in this heat by yourself maybe 3 ounces at a time with pre cut mat from inside. No use adding mat on the outside bottom because your going to sand it off unless its a hook-recess-dip-wave? Easier to blend and bond if you have cloth that's the same as the hull. Flap wheel a ...

Used to cream welds tainted grey on salt water t-tops and many other uses. Just can't apply some paints to it or gel coats!

Re: filling holes

I didn't read a glass hull or alum? Both are a pain but if it's glass? Clear packaging tape on the lower side will save you an enormous amount of grinding/sanding later. It peels real easy unless you make your resin mix hot and toasty? Freshen up the holes regardless to good hull material, not old h...
