Re: New Florida commercial operator regs.

Well onethings for sure. I gotta get it done. I drive tourbiats for a living. Any idea of costs yet. I love doing this for a living but it doesn’t give me much disposable income. Did you realize what you just said? I'm a pussy and will conform to any regs the state feels competent to impose on me?

Laws enacted deserves support of such, and not just fines to those that cannot abide....

Re: Air boat rigging Rip off

Since this is a newer post and normally I build my own, who is affliction on this site? I picked up a hell of a deal from little john selling a bone collector alumiitech rigging after he got tired of all the changes and told both bone collector and his texas bowfish client to pound sand. Kind of har...

Beebo abandoned the original intent of the post, But I would love to see his face when he tries to twist a JX at 5.5 - 6K with a 2.55 assuming the JX is still an option?

Re: Noob engine choices, what makes a good motor

Welcome and unsure about that bug! It can get nasty at times? 8.1 will bolt right up to about any redrive, but unsure about the 5.2? Assuming your not thinking direct drive. Eco techs are the newest as far as redrive fitment but just any motor is not very common as far as mounts. If your starting fr...

From all the pics very poorly rotated and the shading of all your post, I'd say its a smart hull! It eludes you in taking and posting a good pic!

Hi I'm Randy Hill and I'm the owner of USA Marine Training. The course that is needed to operate any Airboat for hire in Florida is a FWC Florida specific course. The DOI course will not be accepted by FWC if you are operating an Airboat for hire in Florida. As of right now USA Marine Training LLC ...

Re: Silent prop for drones.

I'm up for the ngr's for the inspire and phantom.

The winglet don't fit nicely packaged so sound is probably not the main goal.

Are we sure your thought is not working backwards to prop companies using drone props for boats?
JX is about as close as it gets to making something idle in place or hover.

Re: New boat , 2.68 ox box with 76" 3 blade r

Just add some more pitch I ran a 550Hp Ls3 on deckover with 78 inch R blades the 3 is reference point, I will say over past imaginary 4 mark and it will not be happy and yes longer blades will bring down your Rpm down but I just pitch it more first Have fun Ditto, 76 probably not ideal and a 12 foo...

Re: 383 to 454

Couple factors involved to the motor and maybe more to the hull? A built proper 383 should resemble a 454 of similar cost per cube but maybe not on a 16 footer. Minus longevity that pretty much no one guarantees. Built Big block should push 16 foot with ease proper built where a 383 might struggle? ...

I was a relative cad consumer for many years, until it took 2 days at NAPA to get a starter? Rec boat maybe ok. Work boat is lost wages and nothing to eat in down time! I run one boat that's stroked 383 non dynoed on a 12 plus laser with 3 s's set a hair below 2. A very healthy build and empty will scare most folks. I do have a fascination with 268 since normally I run alone and if matched correctly to the motor and prop, no need to wait on weekend warriors. 300 hp...

Cowboy,

I think you need a carmotor boat for repair downtime. My owls are back and took a full grown peahen the other day while I was swapping drives.
Not as drawn out as this post but guess your ac boat is down for major repairs and boredom on your end

Re: Some real good engine prop thrust Data

Dave, Thanks or Thank You! I know the JX seems to have some great aspects overall with exception of down low push. What you would consider pre plane numbers under 2k. I've actually found a stall factor at idle in a slight breeze. One thing I can say is the jx does not torque a boat no where near wha...

Re: Reversible Airboat Prop (up to 140HP)

Thanks for comments! Yes it is plenty of big blocks in US. Next year we are going to make bigger hub for 250HP, but obviously it is still out of your league. The original idea for this particular system is to make boat move astern and to make kind of brake when riding on the ice. But we have anothe...
