Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP

No sir youre. going to need something like hp tuners or efi live. Than you have to go in to the tune and disable the DTC you won't be needing. There's several. I have close to 50 of mine disabled. Stuff like anti lock brakes. Body control module. Theft deterrent start enable. It may not even start w...

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP

Looking good! Before you try and crank it over I recommend turning off the DTC that you know you won't be needed. Once you start it all those ones will be stuck on there. I went through this before. Was a pain in the butt.

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP

Mine is a lhu different but it has a o-ring on the outlet side. I don't know if a flat gaskets going to hold those kind of boost pressure. I was looking at your pictures I see the factory looks to be stainless is still on the engine. Did you pull that off to see what's in there? Also you could proba...

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP

Yes to close is where I had most of my problems. I had the maf 5" from the inlet of turbo. I believe it was picking up back turbulence from turbo. After tuning the maf we had the idle good. Than once it made boost it would idle like crap. So long story short the maf is 16 " from inlet and from air f...

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP

Also I noticed you have Teflon tape on the fuel pressure gauge be very careful what you put on the threads. I used some pipe thread dope. Ended up with a stuck fuel injector #3 cylinder full of fuel not a good thing. Just a heads up.

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP

To explain a little more on the intake. Problems I had. Maf to close to airfliter strong side winds at idle would make the engine stumble bad. Maf to close to the turbo is where I had tuning issues for idle. It's like it would pick up turbulence from the turbo when you would stab the gas and let out...

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP

I had a problem with a short intake as Russ mentioned. Idle was crap no matter how much tuning we did to maf always had a idle issue. And everything got worse when I went to big turbo. Fuel pressure regulator in and out either side. Return out bottom. Cap vacuum port. I have mine set a 70 psi. Also ...

It's sad we pay top dollar for these blades and they are ok with that? That shank looks horrible I'd be worried it would turn in the hub. I'm no prop expert but seems like quality control is lacking.

Swap specialties is the best prices I've seen for the ecotecs I friend just got a harness from them very nice clean harness. They were a little slow but if you aren't in a hurry I'd contact them they have LSJ harness and pcm and they do in house tuning as well. https://swapspecialties.com/product/gm...

Swap specialties has stand alone harness for the ecotecs. They seem to be the best prices I've seen. Have a friend that just ordered one. He's a ways out on the build be he said they were easy to work with and they do in house tuning as well.

Re: Ecotec I4 engine identification

I had a buddy that was a mechanic for a few years wire mine. I had a 2013 LHU got all the wiring out of the bone yard. He had it running in no time. But it kept going into limp mode at a certain torque limit. After lots of research and time we find out that 2013 is the only year they used the E39A e...

Re: Ecotec I4 engine identification

GM makes a standalone harness for the LTG I believe jegs and summit sales it and also pace performance. I'm running a 2.0 LHU like Russ but I'm running on a 2010 lnf harness and ecm I got my harness from cbm Motorsports. So far I have a little over 170 hours on it with no issues very happy with the ...

Re: Take out 6.0l with E78 power problems

I'm having the same problem with my 2.0 ecotec with a e39a ecm. We've been at it for over a month. And haven't gotten any where. We are also using hp tuner pro. It goes wide open for a second than pulls the throttle back to 30% I'm getting about same rpm as you I'm around 3,500 rpm. If you figure an...

Ecotec engine

Does anyone have any connections with anyone that works at a junk yard? I'am having no luck locating anyone that can get me a engine and wiring harness. I can find the motors every where but they all are missing parts. I've been using car part.com and have emailed a dozen people only to have heard b...

This is crazy I work a full time job and built my whole boat in 6 months and that's a riveted 7075 hull and one of my biggest hold ups was coming up with the money. I can't even began to figure out how a company that makes a living off of building boats could take 15 months and still not be finished...

Re: Airfilter

I used to run a spark arrestor to one day the screen was full of crap so I took it off to clean it. When I did I stuck my finger in the throat of the carb it had sand all in it. That was the last day I ran one. Been running a K&N for well over 5 years never had a problem with getting a ticket for it...

Re: Airfilter

Schmidt Airboats has a Adaptor that bolts to the carb and is made to take a K&N type filter. Some people also run the spark arrestors but they don't filter bugs and sand I would go with the K&N
