I can tell you that if you go with anything over a 2.5 on a boat as big as yours you will definitely be unhappy. The big boats don't like big ratios. With your HP and torque I would go with a 2.5 ratio. I've played with many ratios on the same hull with 3 different motors. My 383 liked the 2.3 with...

I would also go over every nut, bolt, clamp, wire tie, etc. Start with the prop - check and torque to specs!

Kwan? What is your personal experience with this prop? Proto was not commenting on the j series prop performance, but rather listing the given performance data in black and white, so the forum could have a conversation on the correct prop pitch, engine rpms, etc, to get the OP dialed in on the perf...
