Re: Johns lake gator airboats?

As far as I know there are no airboat restrictions on Johns Lake. I hunted that lake 2 years ago. We had Lake county tags so we put in at Lake Blvd right on the edge of Lake County. The rules that I read said as long as I launch in Lake County and the lake is in Lake County (even if it goes into ano...

Re: Where to ride near Clermont

I don't know all the leaglities of it but I can try and find out. As far as where they are, I know some people that get them out there and they always find them around the hay field and the island down by the lock to Cherry lake.

Re: Which Prop

I went from an 80" 2 blade H series to a 78" 3 blade Whispertip 2.0. The Whispertip pushes hard and my cruise is a lot better. The H series I believe is a good prop I just think I was turning it hard enough but I was afraid if I turned it harder my cruise would just go up too. Just my 2 cents but I ...

Re: Where to ride near Clermont

I live in Groveland and there is some pretty good riding right here in Groveland. I mean it's not like Kissimmee but for something close to home it's not bad at all. When are you coming down? We can meet up and I can show you around.

Re: Motor stand setup?

I live in Groveland and have a panther built by classic airboats. It's a 377 with a rotator gear reduction if you wanted to look at it for comparison. But I would also recommend little John in Center Hill or Poorboys in Steinhatchee if you don't mind driving.

What kind of power are you putting out of your 383? What mark do you have your prop set to and what size prop?

Re: Central Florida Riding Groveland/Withlacoochee/Lake Geor

fl cracker and waggs come on down I am always game to do some riding. Waggs, we hunted Johns Lake last year for gators so we were out there just about every other night. I have never been frogging out there though. Might have to check that out. HuntingBigun, I will have to take you up on that offer....

Ya of all times for Adam to have the Go Pro on that would have been it. Ya everyone was good just a bruised self esteem. Me and that red boat that was with me want to go down and run Cypress and Kississmee I might have to get with you when you are free to show us around.

Re: What size hull?

I would think a 15ft would be alright. I run a 16ft Panther with full walk boards and I only have a 377 with a 2.12 to 1 with an 80'' 2 blade H and I do alright with 4. On long stretches it gets a little sticky but it does the job.

Central Florida Riding Groveland/Withlacoochee/Lake George

I have been on this website for a few years now and have gotten a lot of knowledge on my boat and air boating in general from reading these forums like its my daily newspaper. I got my first boat in my signature and have been addicted ever since. And the greatest part is my wife just might like ridi...

Re: E-185 hub problems

But what about the nut and stud? Can I take that out? And if not what does it hold? If I can take the nut and stud out then I will only have tyo machine the hub down 1/4'' which would be great. Thanks for the response.

E-185 hub problems

My friend has an e-185 cont on his boat and has had a wood prop on it from the start. He bought a used 72'' H series prop and it came with a Water Walker hub off a 470. The problem he is having is the hub wont bolt up to the engine. The dowels and bolt holes are fine but the splined part of the cran...

Is this the right prop for me?

I have a 16 ft aluminum 3/4 deck stainless cage and rigging boat. I have a 377 small block with a 2 to 1 Rotator gear reduction. When I initially bought the boat it had a ZZ4 350 on it but it was in bad shape. The horsepower between the two motors is fairly similar. The Prop I have on it now is a 2 ...

Re: new airboat owner

I live in downtown Groveland. If you want to stay local and just get the hang of things you can ride off of Browns Ford Bridge just north of Groveland on hwy 19. There are some marsh areas to ride but mostly deep water. Lately we have been riding the Withlacoochie River and putting in at Lake Panaso...

Re: 377 Stroker on a 15ft Alum Panther hull

The flywheel on the ZZ4 has a weight on it. The guy I got the 377 said there shouldn't be any weights on the 377 flywheel. So whoever put the ZZ4 motor on this boat installed the wrong flywheel since it is weighted? Could that explain this the rod bearings and the journal bearing went out causing mo...

I guess I should add the casting numbers on the block are 10243880. And it is a mercruiser engine with a steel crank, and roller cam.

377 Stroker on a 15ft Alum Panther hull

I recently bought an old Hilsborough Sherriff boat with a bad motor. I am in the process of building a 496 for it by for the time being I decided to put a 377 stroker on it that I got for a good deal. The original motor that is bad was a ZZ4. My only question is I have the flexplate off of the ZZ4 I...
