Re: LSX Based on 6.0
LOL, Kwan I had to give them LS motors a try. Ive had quite a few aircraft and the last 540 was a really nice boat, but the allure of pump gas, readily available cheap parts and excessive power made me slip on over to the dark side LMAO :stirpot: They all get stuck, now I can just get stuck further ...

Re: LSX Based on 6.0
10-4 Thank you, I can fit an 82 in the cage. Since the 2.0 prop is a 12" wide blade and is made to spin 2600 which is what the 2.09 box needs, I thought about adding a blade to bring the pitch setting down but think it will be too much. While it does do good; I'm just wondering if Im leaving pe...

LSX Based on 6.0
I recently went to automotive, always ran aircraft before. It has a 6.0 iron block, 243 heads, 10:1 diamond pistons,BTR stage 4 cam kit 224/230 -553/547, BTR springs, VVT delete kit and an MSD LS6 black box, N/A with 750 quick fuel carb. I do not know the HP, if I were to guess i would say 450-500??...

Re: Circle h hulls Information
It is a great all around hull, does excellant in the water IMO. I like mine, I did have to adjust the transom tab after some hard dry running but still does not porpoise and no trim tab. I have only had it crow hop 2 times in the 2 years Ive had it due to conditions and/or speed I was running. They ...

Re: first airboat
It lays the grass down instead of chopping it of and filling your hull, also helps going off of steep ground into water so you dont fill the boat with water if it is solid.

Re: J Series Experience & Updates
I don't know about the carmotor J-series but I just put a 2 blade 76" JW on my AV540 and that sucker will hunt.
Set @ 14 mark turning 2750 with a cruise of 1500 in skinny and 1700 otherwise, great match for the AV 540.

Re: Building a 70k airboat
I can tell you my first boat was 3500, old 220 on a worn out trailmaker hull, since then I have built several. The boat I have now is a decent looking boat but it can add up fast. The only labor I paid was a buddy to build the SS rigging since he needed the work and with that not even included here ...

I would say worn cam bearings being the most likely suspect if there is no other noises.

Re: Prop reference point
Had a friend who did just that on his 540 boat, had a cylinder built inplace of the rear mount that had 4 inches of travel, 2 up and 2 down.
He got sick and never got to try it out, pretty cool idea though.

If you remember it then do a rough sketch, between the rough sketch and good verbal details a good airbrush artist should be able to come up with what your looking for.

Re: Gitsu 0520 Crankcase venting.
I will agree as well for the condensation part, however; I did make a mistake on one boat I owned and had it horizontal with the top of the motor. First trip out, it literally sucked about 8 qts of oil right out of my 470 in about 1/2 mile run. Luckily I watch my guages, I refilled it and moved the ...
