Re: High School Airboat Build II

Well we found the problem ( BAD GAUGE). This last week my wife and I went for a quick ride on a small lake near by. We went through the normal routine, took it out on a 15 min ride and then the moment of truth. Slowed down to idle and watch the needle on the gauge drop down till it hit 10 psi and it...

Re: High School Airboat Build II

Sorry for all the pictures disappearing. I have used Photo bucket to put up my pictures on different web sites over several years and never had a problem but now they say I need to pay them 399.00 per year to do 3rd party hosting so that was a lot of work for nothing. I will try to figure something ...

Little report Still trying to get a few things worked out but on monday I dropped the boat in the water and it floats  Started up the engine and hit the water running. The boat jumped right up on plane but seemed a little lacking power, could only get 3600rpm and would hop pretty bad. The ba...

It is smaller to make room for the steering crank. If I have time tonight I will try to take a picture with the crank on. There might be one in this post if you look through the pictures?

Re: High School Airboat Build II

This past week we decided it would be a good weekend to do poly since we were waiting to get the rest of our parts powder coated. So I called John Hagen in Onalaska, WI to see if it would work out. He said we were a go. Then I called Mike Moeller from Holmen, WI to see if he could help out. He said ...

Re: High School Airboat Build II

Gary S We have done a free flow back into the tank and the pressure slows down as it runs. If we kink the hose it does not shut off. So we moved the clear filter to a spot between the pump and carb to see if we could see anything. On my prep I took the carb off and reset the floats they were low. Wh...

Thanks everyone for the comments on the rudders, we cut the lower tab off and when we do our teardown to paint we will weld a new tab up more towards the middle of the rudder. Re: High School Airboat Build II

I don't know if this will work but here it goes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wm5MQqAd8O8 It has a little light popping from the exhaust that I 'm thinking it needs the muffler or something for back pressure. It will run for about 3 1/2 minutes and then it just stops. I need to pump the throttle, ...

Well we will try putting this thing together again. Not sure on setting these valves since they are hydraulic lifters.
