That Contender is a beautiful boat, shame it doesn't have Yamaha power at that price. Seen a kid the other day at a marina filling up his new quads on his new contender...HS graduation present! 300k boat I can assure you a new Contender with quad anything is going to be well north of $300K. Re: twin water props on some airboats

Floral City Airboats builds quite a few airboats with twin remote operating electric thrust motors. They resemble a trolling motor but are mounted low on the hull. They have a control that allows them to be raised up and lowered remotely and steer with a joy stick. I have seen one fellow that had a ...

Re: Destroyed my prop

If all three blades are toast your probably gonna be told it is more cost efficient to switch over to the new small shank blades. They should work for you, my buddy has a three blade set up on a 514 inch pump gas roller engine on a 2.37 box. You will most likely find that they will spool up faster t...

Is tank vented properly

Most likely bad pump or regulator.

Some systems run 2 pumps but I am not well versed on when or why.

Re: Prop VS Motor: Airgator, LS2 6.0, Sensenich NEED ADVICE

I say run it and let the system learn your needs and see how things go.

As long as your not overspinning the prop you should be good for some testing.

Keep an eye on the temperature we have some hot days coming.

Re: LOW TORQUE LS Engine Build

CMB I am going to speculate that the direct drive project has been abandoned and you are now going the 7,000 rpm route. On the DD topic, I heard that there is someone (unknown) who has been working on a set of heads for an LS direct drive. Supposedly they are using an epoxy to narrow up and reshape ...

Re: Prop VS Motor: Airgator, LS2 6.0, Sensenich NEED ADVICE

Curious did you have a curved type air induction with a KN element or more open set up to filter your air. I have noticed many use a curved intake and wonder if that may be why for some reason. I do know that GM and Chrylser use a ram air system so it must be possible to have a straight shot in but ...

Re: 9hp single seater airboat prototype

It is not going to plane with a 9 hp engine

If he spins the prop to fast it will explode

Best case scenario is it pushes him 5-9 mph my opinion

There is a section on "MINI" airboats maybe you can find some additional info in those threads.

I don't know? Mr Branch asked about the stroke length and the builder said it was a 4 inch stroke.
Think it had LSX heads but I am not certain.

Re: new 383...what oil

Rich gave you great advice. Look and see on your paper work if the seller provided any info on an oil requirement.

Is the engine roller or flat tappet?

YOU WILL DESTROY THE ENGINE IF IT IS FLAT TAPPET AND YOU FAIL TO PROVIDE AN OIL WITH ZZDP

Re: LS DD maiden voyage

WaterThunder the LS expert built a DD LS about 4-5 years ago. It was ok if I recall but not super awesome. Was down in StPete last week the guy Mr Branch and I use had a 427 LS on Dyno. He said it had a 4 inch stroke. For a DD car engine that sort of comes up a little short. Your Old Detroit iron fr...

Re: Leave the pcv valve on or take it out pros and cons

An engine with positive crankcase ventilation will stay cleaner and live longer. The Branch engines have a filtered breather on one valve cover and a PVC breather on the other that is drawing air through the engine venting out the bad gasses and blow by. Had you changed valve covers or the grommets ...

Re: Prop VS Motor: Airgator, LS2 6.0, Sensenich NEED ADVICE

Have to agree with both of the prior posts. When you say upgraded cam do you know the specifications or part number? Once you check all the quick and easy data related to the tune I suggest a compression test of all 8 cylinders. Often little things can catch you, is the engine getting air? Does it h...

Your weight was not incorrect for a fully dressed auto application with the A6 A/C, smog pump, exhaust manifolds etc. but we take a lot of weight off them getting down to airboat trim. Re: Cadillac 500 turbo charging???

Cadillac 500 is 573 lbs with iron heads in running airboat trim.

If you swap out the heads, pullys and intake to aluminum you shave off about 40+ pounds.

They are very close to a iron head/intake small block Chevy.

The plates are made to adapt a Caddy to the Rotator or other modern GM (Chevy) pattern. If you run the old Caddy factory plate OX BOX drives can make a direct fit FYI Some guys back in the day would drill the factory plate but you risk a break doing that. There is a billet flywheel Mr. Branch has ha...

Re: Rotator flexplate problem

Same thing with any SFI flex plate for a Cadillac. If you use a titanium coated step drill it takes about 5 minutes to open it up enough for the bolts on the three holes. Some guys also encounter issues with the washers not laying flat due to the plates design. I have ground edges off washers making...
