Re: Spark plug change on a 502/512
It is in the design of the exhaust header flange especially if its from alumitech. Take headers off and radius around the spark plug area for clearence of the socket (i had to use a plasma cutter to add the clearence and smooth it out with a wheel). Even the smaller NGK sockets are tight. removing t...

Re: Anybody go Balistic on here....
The rest of the story........Dave from Panther whom I have been dealing with, is enouraging me to add some more details that I had not considered as important. The rotator was built in 1999 and i am at least the 3rd owner of it. The person I got it from reports that he has never had it apart. He al...

Re: Water Walker’s NEW Congo Cargo Airboat
Awesome thread and thanks Waterwalker for pushing the envelope. We utilize some small 12Vdc linear actuators to automate the equipment I design. You may consider some of these as the custom stroke lengths & forces are well within your design constraints. p.s. what is the box in the middle with t...

Re: Oh what a day
Hope your luck has changed by now. I had a freak issue the other night during a tournament where I always check everything out when I get to my fishing spot. I noticed the engine dieselled a lot more than normal but thought it was due to me racing to get to my hole first. Just before dark, I take a ...

Re: levitator 8.1L 496 engine - truck vs marine
Thanks for the replies guys. I guess I should of been a little more specific. I fully understand the purchase of a used engine and the items to check. I have built several different airboat engines and very familiar with how to setup a BBC for long life on an airboat. My problem is if I spend the mo...

Re: Whirlwind Master Blaster
One thing is bugs. If you run in a lot of bugs, you should wash the bugs off the next day to prevent the acid in them from dulling the finish and wax them twice a year. Strange - I have never had any issues with Whirlwind but my Sensenich prop lost the shiny finish in several months and it did not m...

Since no replies on my last post, let me rephrase: So what were the grinds for each test? Has anyone run a similar setup? I built cam 3 into my new motor and wondering how the other two grinds would compare in the boat? I love the low end snap mine has but as a airboat guy always wonders what he nex...

Re: TQ verses HP
OP are you going to be using the boat when it is cold? I like package #1 but single plane intakes are notoriously cold natured. #2 may be a little more user friendly for that reason. Yes i will be using the boat in cold weather and will definitely be using the dual plane intake with spacers to get ...
