Re: Lake Jessup airboat crash?

There have been a lot of large airboats out on the lake today, has there been some kind of salvage effort by friends? Or did the state bring in their own salvage team? I know they like to impound boats from accidents. Too busy to get out there to see what was going on, I just heard a lot of big moto...

Re: Lake Jessup airboat crash?

Brotherbob, To try to answer your question - I live on the lake, and it's an expressway bridge (2 parallel bridges - typical of a 4 lane divided highway - each bridge has wide emergency lanes too) I DON'T KNOW THE DETAILS OF THE ACCIDENT, but I can tell of my own experience running that bridge: It's...

Re: Seat storage?

For years we used a "fanny pack" like the tourists wear, and just ran the straps thru the base of the seat (under it). Worked great. You could even sew, staple or clamp on a larger bag to the strap for greater storage. You don't have to be a seamstress to work a big fat needle with some tw...

A new PSA encourages kids to steal guns and turn them in

Check this out - the leftists are detached from reality.... This Public Service Announcement actually encourages kids to commit a crime by stealing their parent's guns, and then to commit another felony by carrying it (assumed to be unholstered/loose in a book bag) and enter a school with it. This i...

Re: have u ever exercised your open carry rights

Olf speaks of not getting the CC permit because it just gives the gov't spies your info, and that is correct, however, if you buy ammo, they know you are a gun owner, and are entered into the same databases. With facial recognition in computers monitoring the store's security cameras - even if you p...

Re: 3D picture of Lake George

And that place has special meaning for me too... The first time I ever drove an airboat, was smooth sailing on the way down, but after a thunderstorm it was 3 foot waves on the way back. Cntry saved our asses in just about this same very spot about 10 years ago. I'll forever be grateful to him (and ...

3D picture of Lake George

Well, Stan & Roho and a (very) few others went out to spread the rest of Cntry141's ashes on Lake George yesterday. We put him to rest at a spot where he had some good times... Stan said some very touching words about how, when cntry was in a jam he didn't focus on the trouble, but instead was a...

Re: Country141 Memorial Ride

I'm not sure, but if you punch this address into your GPS you oughtta get there. I think they'll be using the ramp that's on the LAKE-SIDE instead of the one that opens out onto the Kissimmee River unless you're bringing a kicker boat.

Re: Country141 Memorial Ride

Bumping this because it's this weekend. 5 pm saturday at Okee tantie ramp. John's last airboat ride. His ashes will be fed to the marsh - the grass will soak up his ashes, the bugs will munch on the grass, and the frogs will eat the bugs. And they'll have their just reward... before they are gigged ...

Re: Country141 Memorial Ride

I think it should be noted that we lost TWO Johns in early April 2014. John O'Neill (cntry141) and also John Causey of the Seminole County Airboat Club. In case anyone is confused about which John this is a service for, this is for John O'Neill.

Re: cntry141 RIP

John will be missed...RIP. ...on that SA run on Lake George (almost 9 years ago) when he found out we were missing a boat after dealing with the 3' waves coming back. Immediately he was backing his boat back down the ramp to look for a missing boat. I remember him saying "moodfood ain't back y...

Re: cntry141 RIP

I do believe this is the last photo of him. Sitting in his beautiful room at the hospice house about a week before his passing and telling me the story of his "The Last P.I." rudder art. A surveyors world is all about overcoming problems and challenges.... Until that last challenge. ;)

Re: cntry141 RIP

He died at 5:45 this morning. I have been with him the last 10 days, 24/7, sleeping on the couch in his room at the hospice house, making sure his every need was met, that he wasn't being abused, that his dignity was maintained, and that he wasn't in pain. I'm proud to report a successful mission. A...

Re: Heard A Waterthunder Rumor

So I guess you realize that Mopar is wholly owned by the Italians. Which makes them an imported automobile. I'm pretty sure you're not understanding the definition of the word "import". In this global economy if you want yo avoid foreign influence in your business, you'll be crapping in t...

Cntry141's rudders

I'm stuck reading this forum on my smartphone and it's not good at browsing photos here. Does anyone have a photo of cntry's rudders from about 5 years ago that had a photo of a surveyor being struck by lightning? The title of the rudder art was "The Last P.I." P. I. Is a surveying term fo...
