Re: What are your must have supplies.

I keep a box of supplies on the boat at all time. Generally a simple set of tools, some basic replacement parts and what not. I always bring extra food and water and if possible keep a gun on the boat while I run it if it is allowed. Besides that I keep a thermal blanket and a satalite phone so I ca...

Re: To The Guy With The Direct Drive LS In 3A

Some people really need a good sit down, a thump on the head and a good lecture on airboat etiquette.

It was nice going to 2A with you, Diggin. Hope to ride with ya again soon!

Prop Torque Setting

Out in 3A yesterday it felt like one of the blades on my 3 blade 80 inch Sensetech props was loose. Any idea of what the Torque should be set to?

Re: 3 A South

One last tip would be the Indians do mark the boundry at some of the main trails (or used to). They very small. I'd reccomend stoping to look at any signs you might see. I'll be out there out I'm puttin in at 41.

Re: 3 A South

do they have the reservation posted? How will I know where it starts? We are going to put in on 75 at the rest area. This is the first time any of us have been and sure don't want to end up somewhere we don't belong. I've never out in from I-75, we always use the old ramp on 41. I think you'll be o...

Re: 3 A South

Nope. Just your typical registration for FL boats. Just stay South of the Indian lands and don't go into Big Cypress. The indian land starts around 18 miles in I believe, or a mile or two North of "The Cross". I'll be out there this Saturday. Maybe i'll see ya out there!

Re: Still Learning Lessons

Looks like classic metal fatigue. I always checks the bolts before we run and got some special washers or something to help keep the bolts in place. I can recommend them if you're interested.

Good Wireless Headset for the Airboat

Hey, I've seen many people with headsets that allow them to communicate with eachother while riding on the airboat. I have the same issue of not being able to communicate while runing which can lead to the inconvenience over small comments. I'm looking for a good, wireless brand but nothing crazy ex...

Re: Bug Spray

Use Yamashield, it's a silicon based spray. It'll keep motor oil off the prop and I'm guessing it'll do the same with bugs.

Re: Getting real dry in Area 3.

I ran off of 75 On south side last week. Ran out of water like 3 miles north of east/west trail. I shut it down when I hit the trail, parked under a tree, and me and a buddy drank a couple beers while my poor motor cooled down. 3A south is about done dancin' until the water comes up a little. At le...

Re: Getting real dry in Area 3.

Area 3 has gotten real dry. There is plenty of water for the most part on the main trails at 40 mile bend. There is very large dry spots just before the cross and after. From what I saw today and yesterday the trails Swimming Hole are impassible. We ran a good half a mile of dry ground before we ha...

Yeah, it is getting pretty dry out in Area 3. I doubt there will be any water out there by May if the water drops like it has been. Better enjoy it while you can!

Well this isn't good news for Spring break. If you are going to be down in Area 3 this weekend could we maybe follow you? I've never been down that way. If you can't I totally understand. If not is there any map or trails to follow to places like the cross?

Re: Seat belts on airboats... Why not??

Like what most people say, like a regular boat in 90% of cases if the boat flips, rolls, sinks or whatever you want to be thrown free of the vessel into the water, it might not feel good but you're not trapped underwater in a capsized boat. Now there are a few cases where airboats made for drag raci...

Man I don't get why people do that. You always watch your six, it's one of the biggest rules. Maybe he was too much of a jerk or too drunk to care. It's a shame some people don't have no care for the people around them. :?

Thank you for telling me Rebel. I understand why you don't want to speedin as well. I don't have a lot if driving time in the deep canals do I don't run in them as well. We have a good poly on our bottom so it's not too bad. I doubt you'll be able to get in within a few weeks if the water keeps drop...

Area 3 down by highway 41 is getting pretty darn dry. Only a couple inches of water in most parts. I went as far as the cross and there were already some patches of dry ground. I din't get to the swimming hole Saturday but will be goin back next week. I'll keep updates. I doubt it'll be any water th...

Re: Sbc or bbc

Well a big block will be a lot more expensive than a small block and will use moee fuel. On the other hand it will have more torque and pull a lot more boat. Small block will probably be cheaper and will use less fuel but will not have the torque of a big block. Both ways you'll need a gearbox most ...

Re: Newbie needs advice

It mainly depends on who made the hull, how old it is and it's overall condition. If you know anyone who knows about that kinda stuff they might know a bit more and give you a price.
