Re: water in fuel

Tilt boat back and get pickup area to lowest point even use a jack to tilt boat towards pickup, pull fuel hose off just after pump, use pump to pump tank of water till you get straight fuel, reinstall hose, once water and fuel separate, pour fuel through a chamois cloth in a funnel to catch water d...

How about that!!! Maybe they will be a start of something. The only DEFENCE to a crazy person with a smoking gun is a sane person with enough stopping power to neutralize before it gets out of hand.

I don't know how to post the hyperlink for the website. Google US Army Corps of Engineers/ Jacksonville district and on that webpage is a link to daily graphs. You then pick where you want to look and the info comes up. Just Copy and paste. http://www.saj.usace.army.mil/Missions/CivilWorks/Recreati...

Re: Change from aircraft to automotive plugs

Other than cost, is there an advantage to changing to automotive plugs? I think the main advantage is that you only need one tool to change the plugs when they get fouled in the marsh, and not needing to unscrew the cap off the plug which might get seize up from being out in the open, unlike the au...

Re: How about these plugs?

I would say that you are still getting oil blow-by the rings, Mystery marvel oil should help that out, do a fresh oil change with 1 quart mystery marvel or 20% , and add 4 ounces Mystery Marvel to 10 gallons of gas, I have been doing that since "93" when I bought an airplane with a fresh r...

Re: How about these plugs?

I would say #1 was fouled completely and #5 not far behind, if you were to use the mixture control with a EGT and CHT gauge you could run a little leaner and hotter which will burn off the fouling, or just carry extra plugs like you did, however if that is a new top end and rings are not seated in y...

Re: Lucas oil treatment to use it or not?

Always use a 1/2 qt of marvel in my 540, I know quite a few guys at the airport who use a qt for every oil change. I have always used Mystery Marvel oil in my oil and in the gas, an old timer told me about it when I bought my airplane back in 1993 with a fresh overhaul (IO 540), I always put a quar...

Go to MyFWC.com. Coyote hunting is open year round. I have been asked to remove a bunch from property north of Tampa. They will stand you off in broad daylight! Coyotes are coming near homes, around swimming pools, and they are not timid. However, in the woods it proves more difficult to get close....

The carburetor on an aircraft engine has this feature to be able control fuel to air mixture at higher altitudes, however it also works great for lower power settings used in the airboat application, you should use a temperature gauge for cylinder head temperature and for your exhaust gas temperatur...
