Re: Which Belt Drive Ratio ?????? Help!!

go with a 2.68 with a 2 blade s or 3 blade r

i have one guy running a 2 blade s with a 2.38 on a 383 with little more power and it pushes like a freight train not a speed demon but great ride/hunt/work boat

Re: 572 bbc reliability

gm crate motors dont have the right clearences for the abuse that a ab does to a engine best to have a shop build a purpose built engine for your needs..

Re: Motor choices/reliabilty can of worms!

ive built both ls, sbc, caddy etc. for a bunch of boats seem like the best bang for your buck is a sbc 383 i just finished one up last week that makes over 450hp its on a 13ft diamond back cost him 4500$ intake to pan all new parts except for block

Re: Ls1 questions

at 6800 rpm thats way to much youd want to find a cam that drops at 6000 max most people are running 2.68 boxes with 3 blade r setup on 400-600hp motors with no problem they usally cruise at 3000 ish and pitch the prop to get only 5500 wet

Re: waterthunder broad stick/ big stick specs?

spencer321 i wouldn't waste your money on a set of cnc heads the numbers your looking for are not hard to hit with stock 243 heads and a cam id spend the money on boring that 5.3l to 5.7l no replacement for displacement and as far as a cam id go with a xr273hr grind should put you right in the numbe...

Re: Cam for sbc 350 and supercharger

in all points its up to you.. But as a engine builder myself id never put stock rods in a motor making more than 350hp its just not practical for longevity plus its not in a car or truck that cruises at 1800 rpm. youll be at 3000 witch makes it worse on the bottom end creating more boost at cruise

Re: Cam for sbc 350 and supercharger

someone gave you the wrong info they will not hold 475hp ive seen then brake in stock engines. you need to just spend 230 dollars on a set of egale sir connecting rods that will hold 500hp. hate to see you put all this effort just to redo it and spend even more money

Re: Cam for sbc 350 and supercharger

FYI you will be almost full boost at cruse 3000rpm i wouldnt build it with stock rods your just asking for trouble

also 78" or bigger prop, 3 blade r would be good i think just my 2 cents

ask johnny at J&J hes a great guy very smart he will probly tell you the same
