Re: X-Pipe Questions

Re: X-Pipe Questions

The picture shown is of my boat. It is the biggest X-pipe muffler magnaflow makes. I have the turndowns outside the boat also. It will be a couple of weeks before I complete the work to get it running. The muffler was less than $150. and is stainless but not polished. When I get it going I am going ...

Re: X-Pipe Questions

I just installed a Magnaflow muffler with a built in X pipe on my boat. The boat is not running yet so I cannot tell you how well it works. Will give more info when the boat is done and running.

Re: Engine RED Line RPM's ???

More importantly would be prop red line. You need to take the Max RPM's for the prop you have and multiply the ratio of the belt drive you have and that would be you Max RPM's for your engine. Over rev the engine is not good, over rev the prop is very, very bad.

Re: spark plugs

Sounds like flash over to me, the spark is running down the porcelain from the plug wire to the metal. Make sure the plugs are clean and dry including inside the spark plug boot. If the plugs are gaped to large that could cause the problem. If you have some silicone grease or di-electric grease, mus...

Can't make it this weekend but last year was there. Great group of people make everyone feel like family. Fun breakfast Sun morning and rode with the group after. I loved the ride to blue cypress lake. I want to come back there again. Worth the trip if anyone wants to try something new.

Re: boat bumpers on transom???

Must be Canadians. Down here in Miami/ Ft. Lauderdale in the winter they all ride around in their boats in the intercostal will all there fenders out. I guess they figure they can bounce off things.
When we see a boat with fenders out we just say its a Canadian.

Re: 35hp evinrude wont stay running (free gator hunt for hel

Where are you??? If you fill out your profile so people can see where you are its eaiser to get people to give you some hands on help. I would guess the problem is in the carb. I would start by pulling the plug out of the bottom of the float bowl on the carb and draining it, put it back in, pump up ...

Re: Glowwhips

Dwane I am all for visibility. That is why I am looking at getting one for my boat. I was just letting people know that to use a white one in place of the required nav light is not "legal". Would it do the job, yes probably better than the light but you know how laws are written. Lots of years ago I...

Re: Glowwhips

Even if you use a white one it is not legal to use as a nav light. All nav lights MUST have a USCG approval number ON the light. If you check any nav lights on boats they have the approval number either cast into them or a label on them. There are lots of guys I have seen with regular truck type cle...

Re: What should I expect?

I have the same boat as you. I am running poly but it will run dry better than I expected. I turn 5000 RPM's at 18*. It took me a while to get to know what it would do and not get stuck but I am reasonably happy with the performance. I would set it to turn between 5000-5200 and see how it does. I cr...

Re: color fade on fiberglass boat

Is is gel coat or paint? You can compound gel coat or if it is real bad wet sand with 1600 grit paper and then compound. There is some stuff that I have used meny times called aqua buff. It does a great job but is a lot of work. It will bring back gel coat to look like new.

Re: painting prop

inless you just happen to have the paint laying arround I would just send them back and have them done at the factory. Last time I checked it was just $25. per blade plus shipping. That includes balancing cant beat it.
