Re: mini build help/advice
The rotax call ricks rotax in ft Myers the other snowmobile engine won't make the tq a 320 will not the same at all also you need a gear reduction the rotax are built for that but hull width and weight should be primary concern

Re: mini build help/advice
The trick is the width you need 6 ft across the bottom a Jon boat is maybe 3.5 -4 ft my first boat was 6'6 x 10 with a Lycoming 200 and II had a ton of walking room if you make a mini 6 x10 with a 670 rotax it will float in 2 inches of water you need width is super critical more than the extra 2-4 f...

Re: mini build help/advice
You don't need 15 ft anything for one person a 6-6.2 bottom x 10 ft out of 80 th built lite by don Davis or John Fenner someone like that with a 670 rotax will do well over 40 mph great on fuel and with frog spit on dry with just a single person 90hp and reliable electric start and if he gets stuck ...

Re: engine break in
It's a roller so no cam break in 20-50 is way to thick comp sells break in oil also I would heat cycle at least 5 times get it up to temp then complete cool down helps with ring seal if you just run it the rings lose tension if you built it right the oil will stay clean for quite a while good luck t...

Re: promaxx heads
The heads are important but the combo is 10x more critical the wrong cam intake carb timing etc will make or break a motor sounds like you have decent heads maybe find a great engine builder get some mild bowl work lite port work better can and intake Afr heads are good 23 deg heads but you will gai...

If you already have a decent set of alm heads I wouldn't switch the heads a zz4 STK should be easy to get another 80-100 HP out of it with other changes

Re: Running Green Sticky Grass - Need Advice
Yes my boat was faster top end quicker and push hardest at 3000 remember the rpm doesn't matter it's where your engine makes the most hp spinning a motor that makes 200 hp at say 3000 only 2600 will probably only make 170 hp it's not 200 hp from idle to whatever every engine has a sweet spot I've ha...
