Re: Beginners boat

I believe step hulls are geared for experienced operators. I would lean towards a standard fiberglass hull with deep sides.

Re: Why am I losing control in Shallow Water?

I took my first airboat to lake pierce and stayed towards the shore but more like 3’ of water. I may be wrong on this, but personally I think it’s easier to get into trouble in shallow water. I’m really skinny water you can find yourself getting pretty fast if you have to over-correct a steer. The o...

Re: Hog Hunting video

I'm not a law expert by any means but in my simple way of reading the Hunting regs and the Kissimmee chain brochure I'm thinking this is illegal. Although looks fun. If I am missing something let me know? Or if outfitters Lic is different ? Prohibited methods and equipment for taking game mammals a...

Re: Kissimmee water

I saw what appeared to be a rather large snake dead in the dead river area. At first, I thought it was anything other than a snake; but my wife swore it was one. I regret not turning around to look further.

Re: Kissimmee Lodging

You used to be able to park them on the dirt portions by the ramps for free, but now these areas are only for launching and retrieving. Now, you can leave your boat in the water as long as you rent one of the many docks they built on the canal. I think they were 10.00 a day when I checked last.

Re: Boat Ramps

Yea it’s a shame. Everyone wants to talk about being able to ride everywhere and have all the lands. Then they freakin throw trash all over. When the waters low, you can follow a trail of beer cans out. Really making a good statement about why we should get to have all this freedom. Then you got a h...

Flipping boat to apply slick bottom

Anyone flipping their boat on the side to put new slick on, or is everyone taking all the stuff out? Finally seeing some wear on the bottom. Don’t run much dry. It’s a car motor after all :toothy7: :stirpot:

Wheres all the wildlife?

Besides cows, turkeys, and other birds, I have only seen one deer in the past two years on the Kissimmee Chain. Is anyone seeing any hogs or deer?

Re: Anyone using hang-on stands

I wound up going with the lone wolf assault 2. It only comes in at 11 pounds

I also got the muddy pro sticks; kind of. The ones I got were recalled so I had to send them back. Now I’m in limbo because it’s basically a mystery until I get new ones shipped. Pretty dumb.

Story Behind the Yacht Club

Spent some time on Lake Hatchineha yesterday and wound up getting caught in a storm. Luckily, I was right by the Yacht Club and was able to take shelter. It got me thinking. Who are the people that built the club and how was all that material moved to the location. It’s nice to have a good spot to s...

Gator mount ideas

Was fortunate enough to have another successful gator season. This year we took our personal best gator at 11,7” and 400 pounds. This gator had a good head for a mount and I have an idea as to what I want. I think I want the head mounted in a way to show the skin around the neck and the front feet. ...

Re: IN FLA.. MY RAMP....AIRBOATS PROHIBITED...

The ramps also say no power loading (which is actually bad for the ramp) yet it seems that page one of the national bass boaters manual states “Always power load your vessel. In fact, try to get as little of your trailer wet so you can really show off that new 7,000 HP motor. once loaded, look into ...

Re: IN FLA.. MY RAMP....AIRBOATS PROHIBITED...

The public ramp to Lake Pierce in Polk County had signage prohibiting airboats. To airboat on that lake, you have to launch at Jennings Resort, Cherry Pocket, the FFA, Or a buddys ramp

Re: Anyone using hang-on stands

Thanks for the input. I like the Muddy stands for the price point but they are much heavier than the other systems. I will most likely be going with one though. I got the Muddy pro climbing sticks and have an issue with NEEDING to match all gear with the same brand lol What are y'all doing once you ...

Re: Kissimmee river hunting advice

How was the traffic?

Was the river better suited for a center console or airboat. On YouTube there’s nothing but large groups of seadoos hauling a$$ down the river. They are about to take the A$$hole crown from the bass-boaters

Re: Kissimmee river hunting advice

I just noticed this is referring to river pools south of Highway 60. I have not been further than the turn in for River Ranch so disregard what I said. I have always wanted to spend time down there, just never find myself there for some reason. Is there a launch site now to put in directly on the so...
