Re: 18x8 with 450Hp LS3

For what it's worth, my 16x8 with just over 500hp has no problems dry loading/unloading, and has no problems running dry or crossing any levees or pulling up on banks with a load. I guess it's all in the setup like they always say. Just curious how heavy these big boats are that cant run across wet ...

Re: Water Walker vs sensenich

I had a WW cypress series on my 0360 and it pushed pretty darn good, not much top end but plenty of low end grunt on the ground, mine was very durable and has been sent through the wringer and still is running the marsh to this day,I will say the WW was more of a biotch to adjust pitch though. JMO

Re: Thoughts on 4 cylinder boats

My old 0360 180 hp boat would handle that all day long. It was lightweight and setup correctly. As stated above keep weight to a minimum. IMO for the money they are hard to beat and I am in the same boat as Rick(pun intended) once the kids grow up my retirement boat will be 180-200,lightweight haman...

Re: How far would you drive

Really depends how bad you need money. As a first job to get in the door I see that being a decent wage as long as they dont stay at that wage long depending on their performance. Now an experienced adult with work ethic and clean driving/criminal records that pay better be increased substantially i...

Re: Leaking oil from jug

My old boat with a 180 had a head separating which was causing a slow leak as you describe. I replaced the cylinder and that leak was gone, but that oil on the rudders was always there and just kept the bugs from sticking.....lol..

Re: Going to have new boat built soon

I say go with the Ls, that is plenty of power to push a deep sided 15x8 and should be a point and go boat loaded down. Has to be a reason most car motor boats being built now are Ls powered. More power, less weight, plenty reliable.

Holy smokes! I would say that is pretty damn extreme. Experienced operator with very capable machine. Bad a$$... Pucker x10, that river looks like it would eat up a lesser boat for breakfast.

I agree to stick with the top tier companies, way to many people here lately trying to save a some money just end up screwing themselves. Do as much research as you can, talk to people and see how their service has been after the sale. Do they answer the phone when you call them? Definitely look at qu...

To each there own, it's your business you run it how you see fit. I definitely dont see how threads like these can help your business. The companies/businesses that I have dealt with and continue to deal with put their customers wants and needs first and puts their customers on a pedestal, that's wh...

Re: Rigging Question

Can definately keep an eye on the little ones and other passengers better with rear side by side/rear operator, that was my main reason for going that route, I definitely like that setup better for my boat. Nice to not have to keep looking back to see/talk to freinds/kids for sure.

In a legitimate, quality, well run business these terrible incidents should be very minimal and if they arise they should be taken care of promptly in a professional manner. If these bad experiences are so common in your business that its affecting you paying your bill's then i would take a hard loo...
