Ok guys another question for the class. I have an older Rotator gear. Theses are the only #'s on it. R600 10R212H. What am i looking at? Im planning on using as part of my build if I can but not sure of the reduction ratio.

Slidin gator. Thanks again. Ur rigjt about the 502. I have 2 of the from a boat. Sending one off in two weeks to start the rebuild. I do have a ls2 ready to go but didnt think i would work well in a 21ft boat. Funny u say diesel. I say one with a duramax in it. I do have access to a few diesel engin...

Well guys I can say with confidence that Im more confused now than Ive ever been. lol But really its good info you guys are giving. A little about the boat. It was a stock 21ft dixie airboat with a lycoming 0-540. 200hp. That sounds why under powered to me. Not looking for speed. I just want to driv...

I havent purchased a prop or reduction gears as of yet. So Im open to suggestion on that as well.

502 power VS torque

Question for the group. I have a 21ft dixie airboat. I m planning on putting a chevy 502 in it. what kind of power do I need to push this size boat?

What engine do I have?

Guys another question. The Lycoming with no id plate. Where do I find the # on the engine that identifies that engine? So I know what engine I have. I found these on top of the engine where to two halfs join together. L1807-40 Mean anything?

Not sure who use to own the company. I looked them up to find out about the boats I bought. Last record shows them south of Houston Tx. They went out of business around 1989. I still see some Dixie boats around from time to time.

This may explain why this airboat company went out of business after only 5 or 6 yrs. They were bought directly from dixie airboats out of TX. . So neither carb is for a o540. lol

carburetor for Engine

Question for the group. I bought two Lycoming o-540. They have been seating since 1989. I has the ID tag on it and the other one doesnt. Im trying to see if the carburetors on the engines belong to that engine. The engine with the id plate is o-540 A1D5 and the carb is MA-6 4-5. Part# is 10-3965-12 ...
