Re: Aluminum cased ammo

The issue with using steel case ammo in a semi auto lies with the extractor. Aluminum is a soft metal and will not hurt the extractor claw but steel case ammo "could" be an issue. The Glock pistol was not designed to use a steel case round nor was it designed to use a unjacketed projectil...

Re: Why didnt Florida join this lawsuit

I agree, there is plenty of work that could be done to make the current legislation more efficient. The main reason I defend it, to use the Everglades as one example, is that without the current protection the Everglades receives, partly through the ESA, they wouldn’t open it back into an untouched...

Re: Trailer supplier in Central Florida

My mount is a piece of stainless tubing on the starboard side of the cage that the fiberglass pole slides down into.

I put the flag into place at the boat ramp before launching, and remove it when the boat’s back on the trailer.

It’s worked fine for over 11 years now...

Re: Trailer supplier in Central Florida

I haven't needed a trailer, but I had Chris make me some aluminum guide-on brackets a few days ago.

They're top quality, were made on time, and at the price agreed upon.

He's definitely got my business from now on!

Well, I'll add to it then.

My first airboat back in 1980 was Corvair powered with an aluminum prop.

Re: Hearing protection for dogs

Do whatever it takes to keep them on! Many years ago when I was much younger/more stupid, neither I nor an Aussie that was our "once in a lifetime dog," wore ear muffs when airboating. He deserved better. The dog was deaf as a post in his old age, and my ears have been ringing for the last...

Yes.

They were often used on airboat trailers back in the 70's-80's.

Sounds like it's getting to be time for a new tach.

They don't last forever on boats.

Sniper that is a good looking rig you have there :usa: Thanks for doing what you do! Prototype you do need to lighten up just a little buddy, Chill Bro. Some builders attach the cable behind the pivot point of the rudder and others attach it ahead of the pivot, some even put the steering at the top...

Just don't tell her how much it really cost and you'll be fine, what she don't know won't hurt her lol A 4 cylinder on a small light hull will run dry but 3 people is pushing it. Seems the general consensus around here is it takes about a 1 hp to 4 pound ratio to run dry with confidence assuming th...

I run deep salt water (and shallow) without issue, and have for 40 something years now; using a variety of different styles and power airboats.

As with most anything; let common sense be your guide, and you'll do OK.
