I have 2 Streamlights, both rechargeable. The LED is by far the best flashlight I have ever owned. The Stinger model has a strobe feature also. www.streamlight.com

Re: Who are the best engine builders?

One name not mentioned was SpeedWheelie, a.k.a. Tom Jeffords. I took him a G.P.U. engine, with great oil pressure, and he turned it into a sweet running, ground burning machine. He got me some real nice 0470 aircraft jugs, installed another mag, and replaced my old 4-barrel with a new Holley 500 2-b...

Re: 220 vs 470

I had my 220 GPU converted to an 0470, and the difference is like daylight and darkness! I have not had to get out and push it since the conversion. Don't even have to wiggle the stick. It uses little to no oil, and you can get it done for the $4,000.00. If something happens to the bottom end, you s...

Re: Oil consumption on conversion engines?????

SpeedWheelie did a 470 conversion on my 6 cyl. GPU. I've only put about 7 hours on it, but it has not burned any oil. Runs great! He got me some nice cyl., with the big cooling fins, and it has not reached 160 degrees on the oil temp. yet. Goes wherever you point it!! I left the vent hoses on it, an...

My vote goes to Quicksick! Brian is the man. If you live close enough, let him put it on. He invented it, and knows how to do it. You'll never deal with a nicer, more honest youn man.

Brian is the man! He put 3 gallons on my Laser hull, and it works great. Brian is one of the finest young men I have dealt with in a while. Just have to remember how slick it is as you slide over a ridge and back into the water. Great product.

Re: 220 ideling rpm's

I bought a new tach fo my 220. It had some grease in the housing when I bought it. When I started the engine, the tach would jump up and down about 400 rpms. I really packed some grease in the cable housing, and it stopped the tach from jumping. My 220 will idle at 200 - 250 rpms. Has a nice lope to...

Re: 4 barrell holley carb

I don't know if you have made a decision yet, but I thought I would add my 2 cents worth. I found a Holley 450 cfm, 4-barrel carb, and custom intake on this site last year. I installed it on my 220, and the results were great. I have the power when I need it, and if I keep my foot out of the seconda...

Re: Throttle cable routes on your holley?

I had the tubing already. I don't know if the Depot sells it or not. We were gong to use a tubing bender on it, but it was easier to bend it by hand. I wanted sweeping bends, and the tubing bender made them a little too sharp. I also greased the cable up good as i was feeding it in. By the way... If...

Re: Throttle cable routes on your holley?

I just installed the braided cable throttle set-up on my 220. I took a length of 5/16" SS tubing and bent a 90 at the top and one at the bottom. All it needed was a little kick up at the linkage. I did not use any pullies. I utilized a stud coming out of the engine to secure the tubing on the engine...

Re: New carb for 220 gpu

I bought a carb and intake off the classifieds on this site. It was a Holley 450 cfm 4-barrel. I later learned it was originally sold as a marine carb. I did not work on the old Zenith, so I don't know what it would have run like on a rebuild/modification, but I wouldn't trade this Holley for anythi...

The fishing is great down there. You will be close to Stump Pass. In my opinion, the best airboating is South of Placida. It can get a little hairy in the Intercoastal from where you will be down to the tressell. It's a beautiful place. Too bad Snook season just closed. The Trout and Reds will be go...
