Re: Fuel injection for 496

I have seen EFI engines dieseling as well. (No idea how it happens on EFI, but I have seen it) Oddly enough when I personally had a dieseling issue with my carbed BBC 502 it was a combination of 2 issues. My throttle wasn't closing all the way. Not enough to notice an increased idle, but just enough...

Re: Question on 350

If you cut corners trying to keep within budget, you won't end up with what you want and you'll spend more money in the long run trying to get it right by upgrading everything piece by piece. Been there, done that. I had a $10k budget and wound up spending $30k before I had it where I wanted it. The...

Re: A man's word

I'm just glad that I was in a position to help.
Him calling me, and hearing how happy he is with the performance and how much better it runs put a smile on my face.

Keep me posted.

Re: Sanshandaobojue's airboat building 2017

The wider the bottom of the hull, the better. A wider bottom creates less weight per square inch. If you plan on making a 14' long hull, I strongly recommend going at least 8' wide. 6 ft is way to narrow for a hull that long. A wider bottom also gives it a much more stable base and makes it safer. I...

Re: A man's word

Glen Treadwell is a damn good builder. I had my 502 done there. No problems with it at all sofar, and my uncle has had a couple engines done there. He does tours, and no engine problems and has been running the same engine for years. Sent from my N9518 using Southern Airboat mobile app powered by Ta...

Re: A man's word

Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad to be making a good impression. I have been on the receiving end of a bad deal before. I know how bad of a taste that can put in ones mouth. I just happened to be in a unique position where I am able to do some good. The motor isn't anything special. I bought it ...

Re: A man's word

I have a beefed up BBC 454 1301 cam, and all the valve springs and rods were upgraded to the specs that summit racing called for. It bolts on the same as a SBC, but it has a lot more power. I went with a bigger motor, so now it's just sitting here. I'll let you run it before you pay for it. It curre...
