Re: 2019 Mack's fish camp ride and cookout confirmed

Re: Airboat Fatality

I just turn the perko to off.

If you need the power on to track a problem disconnect the hot cable to the starter. Example, you want to work on bilge pump.

Don’t know what happened but alway, ALWAYS shut those batteries before working on the back end! I have witnessed phantom starts. They are scary

Wow a Ford 289 with a four barrel. Add an eddlebrock high rise manifold and you have my first car. A 1965 mustang coup!

That just brought back memories.

Ethonol will wick moisture from the ambiant atmosphere and lead to water in the fuel system as well as caustic to rubber and plastic.

Re: New Florida commercial operator regs.

Well I’m a pussy that has to earn a living and I doubt the owners I work for will want me driving without the right documents. And just maybe I’ll learn something that will keep my passengers safe. And I can’t afford to not follow the law. I don’t have to agree with it, but I was raised to follow it.

Well onethings for sure. I gotta get it done. I drive tourbiats for a living.

Any idea of costs yet. I love doing this for a living but it doesn’t give me much disposable income.

New Florida commercial operator regs.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the new Florida requirement to complete an airboat safety course by June or July of this coming year (2019) I think the coarse will pretty much mirror the DOI coarse. Anyone have any feelings on this. From what I understand if you operate commercially you will need...

Replaced starter and switch. Seems to have solved the problem. However I will never get in a cage again without making sure batteries are disconnected.

I hope to never experience that again!

Re: PHANTOM STARTS

That ain’t a bad idea. Now in all seriousness is the switch a 100 % as far as disconcerting those batteries or is it time to enhook the battery every time I have to get a water bottle out of there??? Also, none of you guys have ever heard of this?? I’ve been around these boats for a bit over a year ...
