Tugboat is out with his friend on Lake Kissimmee. They have a 13 foot Cotton Mouth with an 0540 that lost a cylinder. They are on a trial that has some dry ground. I have mounted transfer cases both ways, with or without bushings. the thing to remember is all frames twist during operation. Transfer cases are solid and don't give. if it is mounted from frame rail to frame rail, I would put bushings in it so it can move slightly. If you need to mount it solid, b...

Scotty is correct, Marine engines come in Left or Right rotations. Also if this is a previously used Marine engine, was it closed circuit cooled with a heat exchanger or raw water cooled and possibly run in salt water. Run a cylinder leak down test. If your compression is that low, your cylinder could be pumping the compressed air from the cylinder into the block thus forcing that air fuel mixture along with your oil out the vents because of the over pressure of the crankcase.
