I know its not one of those car motors but I run that prop on a GSO 480 with great results. But it should perform better if you can reach 2450 rpm's.

Gilbert Oil in Okeechobee, $3.40 a gallon. They will not fill a boat, you must have a 55 gallon drum minimum to use to fill. There's no minimum gallon to purchase but must have a drum or day tank (L Tank Etc.).

Use the right shroud for the prop your running & give it plenty of fuel. I can hunt dry all day...well 3 hrs. or so till I burn 40 gallons, and never reach 190 degrees. I run (2) Carter 4600HP Fuel Pumps to each side of a Holley AED 850, 1/2 fuel lines & Racor S3232 Filter.

25 psi at idle, 60-80 psi running with engine at temp. I typically see nothing greater than 180 oil temp but I run a 4 gallon oil sump with de-foaming baffles and a big cooling shroud. If you get foam in your oil it will also kill it over time and lower oil pressure. Keep cylinder temps low and this...

Rust oleum has a epoxy urethane line of paints "9100" primer & "9400" topcoat. These are very robust coatings that are extremely durable, the appearance will be a 6 out of 10. If your looking for durability and looks I used the PPG line of coatings on my boat. PPG Self Etchin...
Galvanized Slickwire used for fencing. 1. Cut into lengths you need to cover the area you need. 2. Put one end into a vise. 3. Put the other end into a handheld drill and hold tension on the wire while spinning the drill. 4. You now have straight wire. FYI you should get a mig..
The only issue I've had with my 480 was the gearbox bushing wearing out. The trick is not to put a already worn out motor on your boat. Get a good motor and set it up right and you wont have issues like your speaking about.
I have a 42 gallon tank, lasts about 3-4 hrs. hunting dry, I take 2, 15 gallon cans and hide them in the woods for extending hunting time. They like a lot of fuel and if you starve it or run it lean you will burn it up.
Phillips 66 Victory 50, 4 gallon custom sump. FYI if you use a custom sump it will have to be made with different layers & baffles to cut down on oil foaming. Foaming oil will destroy the motor.
Just my opinion but the last thing a GSO 480 needs is nitrous..but obviously I use my boat for a different purpose than what you intend to use it for. These motors are monsters if and only if they are set up correctly, Ex: correct fuel flow, cooling shroud, enough oil capacity, electronic Ignition, ...
