Re: Belt drive replacement belt

I can tell you from changing many belts and working on boats with century belt drives that the Blackhawk belts are not smart to use. The Blackhawk belts are to hard for the metal they use for their gears and the belt premature wears the teeth on the low gear. In my opinion it is cheaper to buy the r...

So you are looking for a good company to use for an Airboat tour? If you are, look up Blackwater Airboat Tours in South Florida.

It's definitely scary and you are correct. In my opinion it didn't escape from the lab it was put out by the Chinese government on purpose.

Re: Dynamarine Performance Airboat

Re: 350 DD boat

You can call Mako Hose and Rubber Co in Palm Beach. They make the Hydraulic PTO cables on site and you can get it with 8" throw. You just need to know the length you need and if you want 5/16 or 3/8 diameter. 5" throw isn't enough for steering. If you don't want to deal with Mako you can call Schmid...

Re: 350 DD boat

I personally now only use the teleflex push pull cable. When I did use braided cable I used Stainless steel non shielded but you can use either one. I've learned from the past that the shielded cable will start losing its coating after awhile and causes some problems with the cable getting caught on...

Re: New 18x8' Airboat Build..

This thread is going to be fun reading :stirpot: with a 18' both I would say you need 650+ but it all depends on how you set up the boat (weight). I would personally go big block with a 2.55 ratio and super wide blades, I personally like the Whisper tip SW.

Re: Carbed 6.0 LS fuel pump

I agree with Deano 100%. A carburetor is not designed to have over 8psi. You have a good chance of flowing pass the needle and seat with pressure over 8psi. This will then cause the float to not be able to shut off the flow of fuel to the bowl. This might not happen right away but over time it will ...

I figured they would appeal because they have nothing to lose by appealing. It's the tax pays that will be paying for everything on their side. We have brought this topic up in our E-BOARD meetings a few times. We have a general meeting next Thursday and I will make it a priority to bring this up. W...

Re: 350dd 2 or 3 blade

If it's a 72 H blade it should work fine. A few things with the H blades you should know. The most important is to listen for any sound change in the prop. If you hear a whistling sound you need to check it right away. The H blades are well known for the leading edges to come loose and start sliding...

Re: ECOTEC 2.0 LTG SWAP

IMO you would be better off with using Aumitech, they are good priced and easy to deal with. Most any big Airboat company can be a one stop shop like Hamant airboats, Diamondback airboats, GTO airboats, Floral City airboats, etc but my go to company is Alumitech airboats. FYI Panther and Classic air...

Re: LS EFI fuel plumbing

Thank you for posting that Rich. It is a very common problem and is over looked a lot. When you buy a return style system they make a huge note of how to make sure you plumb the return line but for some reason people still do it wrong. They must have clearly put Dawn dish soap in with the mineral sp...

Re: LS EFI fuel plumbing

I can tell you from experience if your return line doesn't return toward the bottom of the tank you will have a huge problem with the fuel foam/aerating. You might not notice it when the tank is full but you can really tell once you get down to about a half tank. The thing is the return line doesn't...

Re: repainting a fiberglass hull

I've been in your same position before and have learned the hard way. Your best option is Awlcraft which is made by Awlgrip. Awlgrip is more durable then Awlcraft but Awlgrip is a nightmare to wet sand and buff while Awlcraft isn't so bad. Yes Awlgrip products are not cheap but believe me it's worth...
