make sure you have your case checked for cracks in the lifter holes while it is a part .

what cam is in it . what was the valve lash set at. there is a number of things that could be going on could have the wrong bearings in it to. what is the oil presser at start up and when it gets to 230.

if it is tapped and plugged correctly it forces the oil through the cooler it has no choice but go through the cooler.

you need to do a leak down and a compression check some push rods a different cam could be ground low need to set clearance pure motor spec.

there is a plug in the front under the cam gear in the lifter vally location that could be possible.I WOULD NOT THINK YOU WOULD HAVE 40 PSI . OF OIL PRESSURE .

IF THE PLUG IS IN THE RIGHT PLACE IT HAS TO FLOW THROUGH THE OIL COOLER IT SHOULD BE TAPPED BETWEEN THE TWO LINES IF THAT IS CORRECT IT IS SOMTHING ELSE CHECK YOUR FILTER SCREEN IN THE OIL PUMP TO MAKE SURE IT IS CLEAN. TRYING TO HELP CALL WITH ANY QEUSTIONS BEN STANLEY. 407-427-0650

YOU HAFT TO PUT THE PLUG BACK IN THAT FORCES THE OIL TO GO THROUGH THE OIL COOLER.

You can also check the oil hole by the crank gear if it is on the side it is a 550 a 520 will be on the bottom

I bought an engine online that I'd supposed to be an io-550. Now that I have it here it is missing a few more parts than I really want to mess with so I think I'll put it up for sale and move on to something else. It has gtsio style cylinders on it but the data tag is missing and the intake is also...

Just remember guyes if 93 octane is good for your motor why aren't they flying it in the air because it ain't worth a dam.run av gas and your problems will stop.
