Re: Breather vent tube

Thanks for the info. I did clean the screen when I changed the oil it was pretty gunked up. I think the guy that owned it previously didn’t know it was there. I actually just checked the screen after about 5 hours of running and it’s as clean as could be. I did see the screw on filter adapter you co...

Re: Breather vent tube

Sorry I’m new to aircraft engines and far from a mechanic. It’s a 4 cylinder lycoming, I believe to be a 0-290. No I haven’t done a leak down test or a compression test. Oil temp gauge on lycoming 0-290

Finally have motor running decent. Worried about over heating it, and would like to install oil temp gauge. Just wondering where abouts to install it. Any help would be appreciated. Also the oil cooler that’s on it isn’t very big only 2.5” tall by 12” wide wondering if it should be replaced.

Starting troubles with lycoming engine

I believe I have a lycoming 0-290 engine it has sat for several years. In the process of trying to get It to start. I've had engine running for a few seconds at a time on occasion but seems like it's tricky to get there. Just wondering what the normal starting sequence is for these types of engines....
