Re: hard to start once its hot

But all comments so far lead me to my own conclusion of a weak starter. so That where i believe I will ...

Re: timing a gpu

found my problem with timing issues. Found loose rotor and teeth missing from internal gears. Any one know who has the best price on a new or rebuilt bendix mag?

timing a gpu

What is the best way to time a gpu? I have set # 1 cylinder on TDC then calculated back to 30 degree BTDC. But not seeing much variation in the degree movement of the mag. Any help for this dumb redneck would be appreciated.

Re: intake for 220 GPU made for 4 barrel

What is a good setup on the two barrel? I have 1 1/2 in riser under the carb and 73 jets in the holley 500.

intake for 220 GPU made for 4 barrel

Does anyone know where I can find a intake manifold for my 220 GPU to put a 4 barrel carb on it? I have put the adapter for 2 barrel to 4 barrel on my modified GPU intake, but I don't fell I am getting the performance I want. Huntnspots

Re: spark plug ques.

You can also buy the adapters if you want to use the small MM plugs. Then the Auto lite 404 is the same as the Champion D 16. I have had a lot of luck and you can also experiment with different plugs because the smaller MM plug has a more of a selection.

Re: New carb for 220 gpu

I have just done the same thing. I have the Holley 500 2 barrel on top. I have found that the #73 main jets that came in it were way to lean. I have just put some # 78 in, now I need to run it to see if this is any better. Anyone else been able to dial one in yet to help us get closer?

Re: o540 spark plugs

Retreiver1 You can go to the local autoparts store and purchase a reducer for the spark plug hole to be able to use the new smaller spark plugs. By doing this you can change easily change the heat range to get a better fire for your specific engine. I have a 220 GPU and did this. I am now using a sp...
