Re: Prop Advice
Run a full length three blade r series Sensenich 80/82" . You should have the room for that on that wide of a hull unless the cage was built small. If 80 is as long as you can go then no worries you will be fine. You will want to run your engine @ wot between 3800 to 4000 max. This will allow y...

Re: Is the clutched box at the Broward Airboat show?
No worries I have been spread thin to say the least and trying to boot strap this thing with out big money and fight vendors has been tough! That being said, I am climbing out and will be in strong position in the next few weeks. There is enough out there for everyone and I can't fill all the orders...

Re: Ecotec progress (updated info: 3-1-2013 Thrust/Weight Da
I know deck height will not permit The larger diameter propeller but there will be a gain in thrust going from the current 76 inch diameter to 80 or 82. Just a thought.

Re: Ecotec progress (updated info: 3-1-2013 Thrust/Weight Da
I guessed it Within 5 pounds. I said it felt like a small block now I see it's blowing like one that is incredible! If we can get this combination to blow 1252 1300 pounds of thrust that will be a killer combination. Not taking anything away from it now but I believe this Can be a reality. What impr...

72 q series is a dead on prop combo for the gpu. the ngh has a little more on top end but the gpu has good tq and likes the q off the bottom.

Re: what gear box!?
2.38 to 2.55 ratio would be a good fit with a three blade r series. diameter will depend on hull width and cage size. hard to miss with this combo.

Re: Ecotec progress (updated info: 2-19-2013)
the push and performance of this boat feels as good as any good sbc.. if you didnt know what was behind you you would not know the difference ! the thrust to weight ratio is killer and well the gas milage speaks for itself .. i had ignored this engine for a while. but it has my attention now! i woul...

Re: Ecotec progress (consolidated posts)
This ecotec has got my gears turning!! I would like to put just a little more squeeze on the engine and go a little lighter than russ has it and it might be a little lake side contender.. its certainly breaking a couple rules already so it has my attention..

Other than not dragging its tail that would be nice for one of these engines. Turbo normalize this boys!Whitebear wrote:I have had my eye on a Zenith STOL 701/750/850 for a few years now. All I see it needs is some affordable HP.

Re: Ron's EcoCruse 127
Hey Dan, if you could eliminate the 'just off idle' serious VIBE, my hats off to you. I enjoy the confidence of the Rotator strength, but MAN, I can watch the wave of vibration as I accelerate up to full song. Russ and I have formed a friendship, and we represent two ends of the ECOtec scale. Mine ...

Re: Ron's EcoCruse 127
After talking to Rus about his today. I am very impressed! The power and mileage is crazy!! I'm going to make his gear box noise go away and then look into this project further. I don't see why this wont be a viable airboat power platform. Just wait for the next big gas spike.. In talking with him t...
