I finally found out what the problem was. It turned out to be the capacitor in the mag. Once replaced it ran good again, well ok it actually ran like it did before I needed a rescue and that made me decided it was time for an upgrade. Replaced the stock intake with a modified intake an a 4bbl carb, ...

Rescue

Skeeter and Company,
Thanks everyone for coming to the rescue today. The riverside fix was enough to get me back to the ramp but it still needs work. Anyway Thanks Again to all.

Thanks everyone. I'm pretty sure it is the lifters. I used a mechanics stethescope on the covers and tubes. The #1 cylinder intake and the #4 cylinder intake seem to the the source of the knock. The rest sound fine.
Anyway thanks again!

help 220 GPU Knocking

I have a couple of intake lifters that have started knocking at idle. The knock goes away at around 1500 rpm. Since there is no adjustment, I'm guessing that I need to replace the lifters. Is that correct or is there something else I should do? Also can these be replaced without removing the cylinde...

220 GPU Oil lines

I'm going to install a larger oil cooler on my boat. It has a 220 GPU and was wondering which side out the engine is the "OUT" and the "In"

Thanks

Welcome Tedwards, Nice looking boat! I have read many places that mufflers have to be installed by July 1st, but I was told by the Volusia county sheriffs dept. that the law is already in effect and has been for along time. I got stopped at Mullet Lake ramp and he wouldn't allow me to put the boat i...

thanks for the replies. As far as the hull goes it is a 12ft fiberglass w/ poly.
I have no idea what it weighs. I'll keep playing with the engine and WD prop and see if I can get it right.

Thanks again

4.3L V6

I have a Chevy 4.3L V6 non Vortec and a 68" 3 blade WarpDrive prop DD. I was wondering if any of you could tell me what size wood prop to run? This engine will turn the WD prop at 3000 rpm with 10 degrees pitch. As it is now it seems to take about 100 yards at full throttle to get the boat on p...

Hi Countryboy88 and all. I'm new at it too and just found this board. I wish I had found it sooner and might have saved myself alot of grief. I now have two airboats. One that is so underpowered that it will just barely get on plane and the other has enough power that it scares me lol. What everyone...
