Re: HAS ANYONE FOUND TREASURE OR OTHER THINGS IN THE EVERGLADES

Another location that's often overlooked is in central Florida, at a little place called Thonotosassa, FL. It's about halfway between Tampa and Plant City, and back in the day there was a big Creek Indian reservation there, on the SW edge of Lake Thonotosassa. The name stands for 'land of flint'. an...

Re: Building an airboat around an engine

It's amazing how the old time Gladesman built their boats out of wood and powered them with model T engines...and hauled all their building materials to build their camp. We certainly have a world of resources available in this day and age. It is, isn't it. One of the ways they got that done was to...

Re: Building an airboat around an engine

Airboaters tend to build their craft just the opposite of aircraft and yacht designers ...... they tend to say OK, I've got this 0-360 Lycoming, so how big can I build my boat? An aircraft or marine designer will say, OK, I want my boat or airplane to be this size, and I want it to be capable of doi...

If not, maybe we could just sit around a campfire and you could tell me some stories? I'd love that too!!

I agree, Cat. There's a lot to be said for 'old school'. An AV200 would make a fine little rig IMO. While you're at it, I'd consider letting Don over at Sensenich Propeller in Plant City grind
you a wood prop for it. I know I'd be proud of it!!

Re: 12v ignition switch

I like to use a locking Perko switch like you would a master switch on an airplane .... when it's on every circuit on the boat is hot. When it's off, zero battery drain.
Then use waterproof switches for ignition and/or fuel pump, and a starter button.

If you want to see one for yourself there will be a large female one being removed from the white house on the 19th of this month You might want to go see because it is doubtful that the entity will survive because of poor parenting skills. The one you're referring to isn't a female ..... it's a T-...

I do my wiring on a boat al little different than most .... use a locking Perko switch to completely isolate you battery from the rest of the electrical circuits on you boat when the engine is shut down.

A new Trump appointed AG and a couple of new Supreme Court justices should be able to clean up that mess in no time. Interesting that it's supposed to take effect

Re: Battery

One important thing to remember is that you don't want to have two batteries wired in series ...... it'll fry your alternator. Instead, use a Perko switch to separate them and run them as either/or. Never on both. I ran two on my last boat, but I'd start on one and run out. On the way home I'd switc...
