Keep it at 25 otherwise there are too many factors that may damage engine if not careful and you have to know just what to do to get more advance in it correctly

Re: 480 mag timing

yes the points should just start to open at 25 degrees......make sure when you set the engine for timing you do so in the direction of rotation so as to eliminate all gear lash.....I thought the timing pointer for the gso was in the top of the gear box...if the gear box has been removed you can tim...

I get that kind from from louisianna for the boats I've built. 38$ a stick and u weld it on It's not gonna be very expensive no matter where u get it I wouldn't think This is a fiberglass bo...

Looks like the angle if I decide to go that route but I really like the rail that Gary has on his hawk step and I didn't see that on the site thanks though

Get the motor Hal. You will be very happy with the power and you can get a new hull next year haha. With more power and pitch in prop you might just cruise better

Where to find aluminum top rail??

I like the rounded aluminum rail on a chuck hawk I recently saw of Gary armstrongs. Other than that I've seen the aluminum angle style but that's not my first choice. Anybody know where I can buy this rail for a stump jumper step hull I just bought? This hull doesn't have an eye in the front to hook...

Re: Considering GO-480

Depends entirely on set up. The last GSO480 I tuned (Southernrican) was a step hull and he would burn 10gal less in a day than us on the bigger boats.

^^^^^Turned out nice Eric!!!! Thanks Gary. I like this motor so much it's definitely crossed my mind to sell my GSO boat and keep this one but I'd lose way too much money on my big boat for it to be feasable. This boat burns almost half the fuel of my big boat. I put your adjustable pushrods in it ...

Is this his cell? I tried to text this number and it was denied so I called and left a message and haven't heard back from him yet. This was Thursday. I'm looking for the T-rail for a square nose.

The NGR needs a little more pitch per HP compared to the R so you should be fine. Terry Farkas loves his on his GO480
