Re: Question on vent tube oil filter or separator

I installed a Moroso breather can as shown in the picture. It has an internal baffle...stainless steel wool...exit air filter...drain valve...AL can...mount brkt. The moisture in the breather air condenses in the can along with the oil that is seperated so you just drain it to check the amount etc. ...

Go to Walmart , a drugstore or Publix and buy a product called "Original Sarna". It comes in a 7.5 Fl Oz plastic pump container. It is a Anti-Itch Lotion that is an External Analgesic for the skin etc. Be sure and get the "Original Sarna" and not the "Sensitive Sarna". They are different formulas wi...

Re: Oil saver- separator

harold, I agree...if you notice from my previous "lbdb1a posts", i have a Moroso can on my fresh (40 hrs) 0520. When i drain it after a several hr ride i get about 1 oz. of water with very little oil. The other 99.9% of the water vapor went out the exhaust pipes. I just think it is best to not drain...

Re: Oil saver- separator

I think it is best not to return the combustion byproducts ie: water & acid etc. to the engine sump. With a healthy engine most of the breather flow is water vapor with some oil mist. Of course an engine with bad rings etc. will flow a large quantity oil vapor out of the breather along with the wate...

Re: Iridium Sparkplugs in a 0520

TIGO541, Okay i will do that. I made a short run on the trailer up to 2800 rpm and checked the top plugs. Although the test is preliminary due to the short run and not up to full temp. etc , the strap color is changing just to the ground side near the radius. This indicates the plug maybe a little h...

Re: Iridium Sparkplugs in a 0520

Cracker, I have the GITSU cylinders with long reach plug holes. I know you can use short plugs but this exposes several cylinder threads to the hot combustion gases plus the 386 plug tip is recessed into the cyl. head. I had to clean the cyl.threads very carefully to remove the carbon build up after...
