SBC timing

Hello all hope all is well! i have a quick SBC timing question. I have finally removed the vacuum advance (after 10 years of owing the boat) from my 350HO. i installed the mr gasket springs and flyweights and set total timing to ~32* WOT. my question is should i have installed the Mr. gasket weights...

Yeah I'm off of lockwood also behind the bp station it was a 78" carbon fiber wide blade sensinich they took the outer plate also.

:angry5: My prop was stolen last night all they took was the prop and left stereo and fishing poles ? this is in the sarasota area. it was a carbon fiber sensinich. sooooo if anyone hears about a prop for sale or knows anyone that just so happen to come across one please contact me Thanks in advance...

it is a low comp motor stock heads and a edelbrock performer intake wit a 2.12:1 rotator with a 78" terminator and it will not run dry very well

CADDY OVERHEAT

thanks for all the input i never intended on running it this way my other boat is set up with radiator on the engine stand. i was just curious as to why this setup would have been used guess it dont matter we are already tearing it apart thanks again for all the input

:?: i have recently purchased a apache with a 500 caddy nothing unusual there but the thing has a belt driven fan and the radiator is up top in front of the motor just like it was in a 1969 fleetwood whats the deal with that!!!!

thanks for all the info i ended up buying them from diamondback the tubing that mine was made of was a strange size we had to cut off the cross rod and weld in a new one that fit the bushings

HEY GUYS THANKS FOR THE INFO ON THE TIMING THIS IS ON A BUDDYS BOAT WE SET THE TIMING TO 32 AT 3000RPM AND DISCONNECTED THE VACUM ADVANCE WAS THAT A GOOD IDEA AND ALSO SHOULD I REPLACE THE WEIGHTS AND SPRINGS IN THE DIST. IT SEEMS TO IDLE AT ABOUT 22 OR SO DEGREES INFO ON THAT WOULD HELP GREATLY

ENGINE TIMING?

HELLO ALL. I WAS WONDERING ABOUT ENGINE TIMING ON A 400 SBC WHAT SHOULD IT BE AT 3000 RPM AND HOW SOON SHOULD IT ALL BE THERE I WAS THINKING 38 DEGREES TOTAL AT 3000 RPM AND HAVE IT ALL THERE AT 2000 OR 2500 RPM ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED 400SBC EDELBROCK CARB AND HEI NO VACUM ADVANCE HOO...
