Re: new hull and who to use

Hi Bill We talked a year or so ago. I am in Temecula and shipped out a Panther from Florida. Ron Kelly is in El Centro and had his built at American in Texas. There are also guys building in Utah, I think around Salt Lake City. They have an association I think "Utah Airboat" or like that. Good Luck ...

Lightbar on Grassrake

We are going to be putting a lightbar on our boat and not sure which style would be better. We travel about 8 miles in the dark over stump and rock infested water. Looking at a 42 inch bar with both spot and flood pattern. At around 15,000 lumens, with either a flat bar or curved. What do you guys r...

Re: Shipping an airboat

Try uship.com, I am in Southern Calif. and 5 years ago, had a 14 ft Panther on a trailer shipped out from Florida on a flatbed for $1,500. You list on their site and get bids from various people, just be careful to pick someone reliable. Good luck.

Launching Boat in Soft Mud

To get to the water we have to cross about 30 feet of very soft mud. Maybe 2 -3 feet deep. We pull the trailer with a big truck and camper...we don't want to sink!! Portable ramps or mats ? Thanks for any ideas.

Yeah thanks, but when the mud is 6 ft deep it's hard to walk on.
Thanks

Wondering if any of you folks hunt ducks from your airboats, and how you camouflage them? And if possible would you share a picture? Thanks very much.

Re: 383 sbc Compression ?

Thanks guys. I just figured by removing pitch, we would loose some thrust. It is a heavy 14 ft. Panther, usually loaded with people and gear, and we don't want to get stuck [ no one around to pull us out ]. Thanks Again

Re: 383 sbc Compression ?

BGREEN no, we haven't tried any other pitch settings. I was told that was a good setting for this motor/gear combo. We are out on the West Coast so not many sources for info. Thanks we will try it. I was just hoping it would spin it at this setting [ "c" setting @22 1/2 ] Thanks Pat

383 sbc Compression ?

Just wondering how much compression you all have in your 383 motors. I only recently calculated mine at only 9.25 to 1. Thought it was more, with 64 cc chambers, but 12 cc dish in piston. Motor seemed a little down on power. Thanks for any replys.

Push-In Valve Cover Breathers

Anyone ever have a push-in valve cover come out and into the prop ? I was noticing how easy they are to push in,
and thought they might be just as easy to pop out. Anybody safety wire them ? Thanks Pat

We have a 14 ft. Panther with a 383 (430 h.p.) and a 2:12 Rotator. Wondering if a 3 blade 80" Sensenich R prop would be o.k.. Or, maybe too much ? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Pat
