Re: 383 Stoker W/ Gear Reduction

If it’s a stinger they recommend amsoil severe gear 75-140. But other brands are acceptable according to them also. As far as the 3400 rpm goes, process of elimination there. Gear ratio should be stamped to a plate on your box.

Re: Boat will not get up on plane and is really slow???

Check your timing and that you're not off a tooth on the timing gear. I did the same thing built a new 350 with cam etc same prop and gearbox and wouldn't go above 3200 RPM. Didn't figure out that I had the timing gear off a tooth until I blew the motor up test riding it. Sent from my iPhone using S...

Re: May 28th ride at Mack's fish camp

Finally figured out it'll just be me and a friend who has never been to the glades. My offer still stands if I can pick up anything to contribute, grocery store wise anyway. And if anyone can confirm with me the only address I am able to find is Danell lane in Pembroke Pines.

Re: May 28th ride at Mack's fish camp

I just got my wording wrong, I googled it shortly after my post, address comes up as palmetto Florida. Being Everglades I wouldn't assume I was driving north to Kissimmee. I'll let the weekend get a little closer before I tell you I am going to bring food. Just for the pure fact that plans change at...

Re: May 28th ride at Mack's fish camp

I am going to plan on coming, I'm not very familiar with the glades, I do most of my riding on peace river or lake Okeechobee. Planning on having 1 or 2 passengers, anyone taking donations toward the event? And i'm assuming I can look up the address to Camp Mack, never been. Also I will be coming fr...

How do you get to the swimming hole out there? The airboat addicts crew was nice enough to tour me around a3 after the last heroes trail ride and I haven't been able to go back since unfortunately. I'd really like to ride out there again. Not trying to hijack your thread I apologize in advance, figu...

Re: Biggest airboat gathering of the year -- February 15

If I didn't have moving expenses this month I'd drive up there from Fort Myers. I really wish there were more events down this way, or big rides. Checked the SA calendar didn't notice anything happening. Anybody know a good website or ways to find out about rides closer to home?

Re: OFFICIAL HERO TRAIL RIDE OCT 26 THREAD!!!

I'll be coming for the first time and have never been to the glades. I will be traveling down from Fort Myers, does anyone have a physical address to the ramps and suggestion as to which one I show up to? I'll be bringing 2 people, one of them served in the navy. If I have an open seat I'd be happy ...

Re: Running the Peace River Information

I've only started running it this past year. Some guys I worked with in Arcadia introduced me. Only time I ever go the water is between a foot and probably 4 feet. Shallow enough where there's sandbars in the middle of the river. Usually take about a 20 minute ride south of the ramp to a spot they c...

Re: Running the Peace River Information

Ill be down there this weekend, putting in a nocatee and heading south from the ramp. I've gone that way a bunch of times there's a few sunken small boats. And a lot of stumps and rocks but when the water is low you can see 90% of it. Ill be camping out there a few days, never run north of the bridg...

Re: Frogging areas west side of lake okeechobee?

I've been all over east of dyess ditch, I duck hunted out there last year and went all the way to the pump station. Then rode the tree ditch to Harney pond canal and rode around all over there. Havnt tried sportsmans yet there were too many people going after gators for me to go disturbing the area....

Frogging areas west side of lake okeechobee?

Planning on running around on the lake this weekend if the wind from this storm lets me, and wanted to take my stepfather out to get him out of the house for a while. I've been going out of Harney pond and twins palms back in the marsh with very little success. If anyone has any secret spots or sugg...

Re: Lake o video from last weekend

I took the tree ditch from twin palms in lakeport down to the pumpstation towards okeechobee. Then I took the canal that goes from the pumpstation out towards the open lake heading towards horseshoe island. I ran around a few nights and didn't see many frogs. Where I was running was a lot of black m...

Ive spent the last year and about 4grand on turning a bare 350 into a 385...if I had known how much money I was going to end up putting into this motor to do it right and build it to where it would last I would have just saved and bought an LS from waterthunder. $800 on the block, decking, line hone...

Did you make sure the water pump you bought flows the correct direction? I bought one for a 350 chevy and the flow was reverse, pull your water pump off and compare it to the old one if you still have it, I was having the same problem until i figured that out.

Avoid synthetic, I was running that origionally and I've been told by the guys that grind cams that synthetic in a sbc on an airboat is just too slick, your lifters wont spin like theyre supposed to. But whatever you do use youll probably need the zinc additive or buy the valvoline racing oil, it ha...
