Re: NEW DynaMarine RVO Hull

Why are you using channel as stiffeners on the floor vs. t-bars? Bk Strength and weight, channel like this is stiffer than t-bar. The jet boat industry used to build boats using t-bars years and years ago. They've since switched to channel girders similar to these. Not quite as easy to bolt to as t...

Re: Building an airboat around an engine

For starters I would look at hull and prop using the 215hp 360 continental . Then you need to figure out how to adapt a gear reduction to it. Either a 2.38 or 2.68 which I would talk with the prop company of your choice for input. looks like fun.

Re: Battery

One important thing to remember is that you don't want to have two batteries wired in series ...... it'll fry your alternator. Instead, use a Perko switch to separate them and run them as either/or. Never on both. I ran two on my last boat, but I'd start on one and run out. On the way home I'd swit...

12' or taller in order to miss lighting.

If you ever plan on working on it (pulling the cage) 16' is a benefit.
agree . 10ft wall will only give you a 9 ft door opening. Unless it is a small boat it will be too short.

I don't think composite has much strength or support laying on the flat. I would pick a couple 2 x 6 wolmanized with a good grain pattern.

Re: Big Trouble Brewing?

Take this as a grain of sand but, a LS engine doesn't take 15w-50 at all and i don't care what anyone says. The max oil thickness you should be running is 10w-30 you could also buy it with a zinc additive. If you switch to a thinner oil you will have less drag on the supercharger and also less drag...

Re: Odd Problem

I would also look at the bolt holes and check to see if the ones that are involved with the breaking bolts have any sign of wear or misalignment condition. all that might have to be done is either take a dremel burr or open the holes up to next 1/32 bigger. JMO

I had a aircleaner come off in 99 and it took off 1/3 of a banks maxwell prop. twisted the engine stand beyond repair and bent the crank on my 406 and took out half the cage and rudders. I dont run aircleaners anymore just a safety cabled flame arrestor that must have been one hell of a aircleaner ...
