Re: RAKE MOUNTED STORAGE BAG

There is one called "T Bag" it is specifically designed to strap into the inside over head of a T Top of a traditional center console boat. It should work for what you are considering.

I like mine to the edge with a beveled cut. I have seen boats as you describe but have no first hand experience with it.

Re: Grass rake question. Tapered or straight nose?

It is very stout. I think for two reasons, there is strength in curves and the expanded metal is welded at every contact point making it very ridged. It has held up to the old grass rake shake from getting stuck in some mud to knocking through Myrtle bushes and that tall stuff in Lake O. I will say ...

Re: Grass rake question. Tapered or straight nose?

Thanks. It is removable in about 5 minutes. There are bolts welded into the lower tubing where it rests onto the (drilled) lip on the airboat. A thick fender washer and Nylock nut at each point holds it nice and secure. It is emt.

Re: Grass rake question. Tapered or straight nose?

I agree with skinnypockets, I had mine built with a taper. It has knocked down tons of brush and the boat stays reasonably clean.

Re: OK, here's the project ....

I don't really have a budget cap as much as I have a vision for what I want it to look like. Whatever that costs, at a fair price, is what I'll try to pay. Well, that said I like my io470 run out. It has done very well for me for at a price I was willing/able to spend. If I were to build a new boat...

Re: OK, here's the project ....

Any of y'all that have been around this forum for any time at all will know that I'm a big fan of clean, simple boats. The Cirrus radios, the GPS's .... they all have their place, bu mostlyt in the cab of a Volvo truck tractor, not on an airboat IMO. Here's the challenge. I have one more boat left ...

I remember years ago when Lake Hancock looked similar to that occasionally but not quite as many. I guess that did not help the frog numbers much.

Re: Alligator Hunting With a Drone

Even if hunting gators with drones were legal, it would be lazy and unsportsman like. A real sportsman would strip down to a loin cloth, place a knife in his teeth, and dive in like Tarzan and wrestle the gator into submission. Have you ever participated in public waters Fl alligator hunt? Have you...

Re: Alligator Hunting With a Drone

There is no harpoon law simply a restraining line. Fishing line or line attached to a crossbow is a restraining line, a harpoon is just a smart decision to attach a line that is more substantial to hold on to when the gator goes crazy boatside. It forces the trapper to kill the gator close to the bo...

Re: Alligator Hunting With a Drone

If you are holding the fishing rod and simply allowing the drone to release the line beyond the gator so that you can reel up the slack, I can't see why that would be illegal. It has never been printed that you cannot do it. You could probably get away with it this year until they make a law/rule st...

Swapping it isn't the problem - I can't find an 11 tooth gear to swap
Swap it with the one from the old starter that you use as a core.

A few qualifing questions if you don't mind. Is it a poly replacement or first time ever on boat? Fiberglass or aluminum hull? Do you already have the new poly? Is the rigging in the hull or removed? This may aid you finding an installer. One good thing is it has been hot outside, always makes a bet...

Re: Gas additive

Nope its the ethanol in the pump gas that's eating your o-rings. As long as you run that you will have problems. Buy stock in o-rings and diaphams for your fuel pump and divider block cause you will need them. That is why I asked my original question. He says he is running avgas. Here is a better q...

Re: best pitch setting for a 64" 5 blade warp drive , DD che

A few things to consider. Not every boat is set up to run dry and without the proper provisions they cannot be forced to do so. That said generally speaking a warp is happy at 3000 rpm. What is your engines max rpm with the prop as it is currently set? You can give or take pitch as needed to hold th...
